My I-thought-I-had-an-original-idea ice cream cone cupcake pan. Don’t you hate it when you get all your ice cream cones filled with batter only to have them tip over and spill in the pan when you try to put them in the oven?

My I-thought-I-had-an-original-idea ice cream cone cupcake pan

I decided to make a pan prototype to bake my cones in to stop the spills and mess! Yup, I made a prototype. And it was better than mine. The Cook Abides. Design for kids and the home. Lottie + Doof & My Favorite Cake. Period. I use the word “favorite” too often.

Lottie + Doof & My Favorite Cake. Period.

I don’t even let Bryan have a slice unless he begs or I am feeling particularly enamored with him. Of course even as I type this I am thinking of other favorite cakes, which I will eventually get around to sharing— but this is the most important. It's no surprise then that he comes home hungry at only 5 p.m. For those days especially, I have a list of go-to meals that can be whipped up in no time. And while P's sweet enough to try almost anything I cook, I reserve this list for only the dishes he gets excited about. Chief among them is this fabulous spaghetti alla vodka. A LOT. I am rather notorious for this, in fact. My friend’s boyfriend once innocently asked if I had anything he could snack on — maybe some chips and salsa? My friend nearly fell on the floor laughing at the thought of me not having chips and salsa in the house. There is no risk of that. It's just tasty. So, here are three of my favorite beery shake recipes, any of which could be adapted with a fall lager a drizzle of caramel sauce, and be just as fun to make at home. 1. 2. 3.
