Become a Digital Illustrator - Learning Path. Design Training and Tutorials. InDesign Secrets. - [Instructor] If you're over 50, you know about things that younger folks just don't, like dial-up modems and Letraset rubdown lettering, remember that?
Or here's another one: kerning tables. Of course, everyone knows about kerning, right? It changes the amount of spacing between letters for a more pleasant, even look, like here in this text. I would definitely want to come in here and add some kerning, increasing the amount of space between this italic F and the parentheses that follows it. Over here, I'd want to take away a little bit of space between the W and the en dash. And look at this, this slash A, that just looks horrible. If you have a particular font that you use for all your publications, and you use it a lot, that's not necessarily a bad idea. Personally, I'd still like to have a little bit more space there, but this is better than it was. In fact, I have a whole title in the online training library talking about GREP. There's two files inside this kern folder.
