Green America Better Paper Project: For Publishers
Online networking communities are becoming a very important and accepted communication tool. Many members enjoy this method of communication and networking. SPE Color and Appearance Division has a group by the same name on LinkedIn.com and on Facebook.com. These groups were created so that members can more easily communicate and network with each other. The groups will also be used as an additional communication tool for event and division announcements. You must be a Linked In account to join this group.

The Khronos Group: Open Standards, Royalty Free, Dynamic Media Technologies
The Khronos Group - Connecting Software to Silicon The Khronos Group is a not for profit industry consortium creating open standards for the authoring and acceleration of parallel computing, graphics, dynamic media, computer vision and sensor processing on a wide variety of platforms and devices. All Khronos members are able to contribute to the development of Khronos API specifications, are empowered to vote at various stages before public deployment, and are able to accelerate the delivery of their cutting-edge 3D platforms and applications through early access to specification drafts and conformance tests.::: INTUITION NETWORK OF EXCELLENCE::: - Welcome
Category: Developers • The Khronos Group, an industry consortium creating open standards for the acceleration of graphics, parallel computing, dynamic media and sensor processing, today announced the launch of the KITE (Khronos Institute for Training and Education) Program. KITE is a community-based, cooperative effort between the Khronos Group organization, its individual members, and the worldwide educational community; to encourage the wide availability of courses and a consistently high-level of quality in education regarding Khronos open standard APIs, such as OpenGL ES. The KITE web-site is now available for educators and students to enroll and share courseware. Universal Photographic Digital Imaging Guidelines - UPDIG
The UPDIG guidelines aim to clarify issues affecting accurate reproduction and management of digital images. These guidelines were created to establish photographic standards and practices for photographers, designers, printers, and image distributors. The guidelines cover Digital Asset Management, Color Profiling, Metadata, and Photography Workflow. Version 4.0 of the guidelines represents the industry consensus as of Sept 22, 2008. The guidelines were prepared by the UPDIG Coalition, with the help of many digital imaging professionals, software vendors, and hardware manufacturers. The UPDIG Coalition is dedicated to promoting standards for photographic digital imaging.Color Appearance Issues in Digital Cinema Exhibition
Making movies involves more than science, and reproducing color in movies involves more than color science. The companion course, Color Science for Digital Cinema describes how color science is being applied to digital cinema; however, a great deal of tradition, craft, and art remains. In processing color images for digital cinema exhibition, and in processing images for film recording of digital masters, many color issues cannot yet be reduced to hard science. However, the emerging science of color appearance modeling promises to make a contribution. In this course, three masters of digital cinema exhibition describe how they have worked to introduce color science, and elements of color appearance models, to the workflow of digital cinema mastering and release.- - Industrial projects Regional and national projects with industry, funded by industry and National Technology Agency of Finland (TEKES), managed by InFotonics Center Joensuu (IFC)
