ITER - the way to new energy
Twenty-seven years after the leaders of the United States and the Soviet Union, Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev, met on the Swiss shore of Lake Geneva to agree on an international effort to develop fusion energy "as an inexhaustible source of energy for the benefit of mankind," the ITER project—born that day—entered the stage again. The International Congress on Energy Security in Geneva last week attracted the representatives of many organizations and institutions that either analyze energy demand or are very directly involved in its supply. The stakes are high—a point stressed by every speaker during this two-day event.

JSC Atomenergoprom (full name — Joint Stock Company Atomic Energy Power Corporation, short name — AEP) is integrated company (currently in the process of organization), which will unite more that 80 enterprises of the civil sector of Russian nuclear industry. Atomenergoprom provides full production cycle of nuclear power engineering — from uranium production to nuclear power plant construction and energy generation. AEP already includes such large companies as JSC TVEL (17% of the world nuclear fuel market), JSC TENEX (40% of the world uranium enrichment services market), JSC ARMZ Uranium Holding (former JSC Atomredmetzoloto). The company formation is expected to be completed by the end of 2009. 100% of JSC Atomenergoprom is controlled by Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation . AEP was established in order to consolidate the assets of the civilian part of the Russian nuclear industry which has a history of over 60 years.EurochemicWolff

Le G.I.I.N. rassemble les entreprises françaises intervenant dans l'industrie nucléaire : ingénierie, conseil, formation, inspection, maintenance, génie civil, matières premières, demi-produits, fabrication du combustible, instrumentation, radioprotection, contrôle-commande, régulation, appareils à pression, chaudronnerie, tuyauterie, tubes, équipements électriques, équipements mécaniques. Créé en 1959 par la Fédération des Industries Mécaniques (FIM) et la Fédération des Industries Electriques (FIEEC), le G.I.I.N. compte aujourd'hui plus de 200 Entreprises depuis la PME jusqu'au grand groupe industriel (Alstom, Areva NP) pour environ 70 000 employés intervenant en installation nucléaire. Ces Entreprises interviennent en France auprès des Exploitants du nucléaire : Centrales Électronucléaires (EDF), cycle du combustible (AREVA NC), réacteurs de recherche et laboratoires (CEA), réacteurs nucléaires embarqués (DEFENSE).
