http://www.bleedingcool.com/2012/03/10/remembering-moebius-through-his-art/ For many Americans and Brits, Jean Giraud was the European comics creator whose work we knew. Translated and republished in English, his science fiction work under the name of Moebius especially influenced the entire industry. And then he went and did the same thing to Japan as well. To influence three separate comics industries so heavily, and still working into his seventies, this is a dark day but also an opportunity to remember the Moebius we loved, who died earlier today, aged 73, from a long illness.

Remembering Moebius Through His Art

Very patient artist crafts photo-realistic portrait of his father from 3.2MILLION tiny dots

By Damien Gayle UPDATED: 08:03 GMT, 17 February 2012 At first glance, this picture might just looks like a photocopy of a man's face squashed up against a photocopier. But look more closely and it becomes clear it is actually made up from a phenomenal 3.2million tiny dots. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2102016/Very-patient-artist-crafts-photo-realistic-portrait-father-3-2MILLION-tiny-dots.html

This is What Happens When You Give Thousands of Stickers to Thousands of Kids

http://www.thisiscolossal.com/2012/01/yayoi-kusama-obiliteration-room/ This December, in a surprisingly simple yet ridiculously amazing installation for the Queensland Gallery of Modern Ar , artist Yayoi Kusama constructed a large domestic environment, painting every wall, chair, table, piano, and household decoration a brilliant white, effectively serving as a giant white canvas. Over the course of two weeks, the museum’s smallest visitors were given thousands upon thousands of colored dot stickers and were invited to collaborate in the transformation of the space, turning the house into a vibrantly mottled explosion of color. How great is this? Given the opportunity my son could probably cover the entire piano alone in about fifteen minutes.

Extraordinary Carved Out Book Landscapes

It's hard to believe that these detailed sculptures were once encyclopedias. Interdisciplinary artist Guy Laramee redesigns old volumes of information-heavy books that have descended into obsoleteness, going untouched in this present age of technology, into thoroughly sculpted landscapes. The meticulous carving involved in the textured detail of his creations are astounding. http://www.mymodernmet.com/profiles/blogs/extraordinary-carved-out-book-landscapes

Free Classic-Like Yet So Cool Steampunk Wallpapers

To some, it could be a wonder what Steampunk is. It sounds as though it were just something cool and modern. Yes, it is indeed but there is more to that. Steampunk is another category of Science Fiction and also to both Speculative Fiction and Alternate History. http://naldzgraphics.net/freebies/free-classic-like-yet-so-cool-steampunk-wallpapers/
