Welcome to VoceVista. VoceVista is a simple-to-use software application for the PC. While it can be used to analyze vocal signals for a variety of applications, such as research and vocal pathology, it was developed primarily for singing teachers to anaylze the singing voice, thereby helping their students progress more rapidly. This page provides an overview of some of the features of VoceVista. It is divided into the following topics: Power Spectrum The power spectrum displays the components of a sound with respect to frequency (x-axis, from zero up to 10 kHz) and relative intensity (y-axis).

By 'freezing' the display, the operator can at any moment get a 'snapshot' of a moment of this complex, time-varying signal. Fig. 1. Figure 1 shows an easy pitch in a range where the distance between harmonics is relatively small. Fig. 2. Apprentissage des bases du chant diphonique. Seven Styles of Overtone Singing. Singing Techniques. Essential requirements to sing without fear to damage vocal folds are: 1 - technique control 2 - consciousness and sensitiveness about personal limits I think that we must remove some doubts: - vocal range = all frequencies and noise between our extreme vocal limits (shrieks, yells, several noises, hissing sounds) - vocal extension = all frequencies emitted with cleaning, with well controlled formants, without excessive effort "Range" interval is larger than "extension" interval, that is more comfortable and safe.

Now we must distinguish between EFFICIENCY and EFFICACY. An efficient voice involves a complete physiologic control of our vocal system, to obtain properly our vocal objective. A voice is effective, not efficient, when our vocal system wants to obtain a good result in any case, at any cost. When we can't obtain an efficient voice we move toward an effective voice with consequent incorrect behaviours of, and damages to, our vocal system. What are overtones? - Overtone Music Network.
