Warm Bean Dip

Pizza Dip. Over the last while I have slowly been trying to free up some space in my freezer and I recently came across some pizza sauce that I had left over after making a pizza a while back. As soon as I stumbled upon it I remembered thinking that I had wanted to use it to make a hot cheesy pizza dip when I put it in the freezer. Once I had that thought there was no turning back and I was already dreaming up recipes for the dip.

At first I was just going to follow my standard hot cheese dip template where I just mix everything up, pour it into a dish and bake it until the cheese is melted, golden brown and bubbling but then I had another idea. I wanted to top the dip with slices of pepperoni but my normal dip baking dish is small and it would only allow for about three slices of pepperoni to go on top so I needed something bigger, like a pie plate. Since this pizza dip is in the form of a pizza, you could top it with any of your favourite pizza toppings. Hot Cheesy Bean Dip in a Crockpot Recipe. The book is progressing (crossing fingers that it is going to press in early December!) , we have been working on a little something (three little somethings, actually) for Saveur.com, and about a million more actions items cropping up here and there, many of which have not received appropriate attention and are currently housed in a bin marked "anxiety provoking". One of the highlights of our week was a lovely chat with Erin over at Tablespoon.com, who mentioned that they were hosting a Double Rainbow Week, which sounded like such fun!

(And it IS - featured items include double rainbow . . . donuts! So, when the weekend rolled around, rather than trolling cocktail books for jelly shot inspiration, we decided it was high time for a bit of unfettered f-u-n . . . Crispy “Fried” Ice Cream

I should probably start off by saying I LOVE ice cream. It’s probably my biggest weakness. Ummmm, on second thought there’s probably no probably about it. Forget flowers, candy, and jewelry, if you bring me ice cream, I’m yours forever, haha! And Cinco de Mayo is coming up, so perfect excuse for this recipe!!! Unfortunately, we don’t have many Mexican restaurants around here and I miss them terribly! This recipe makes a lot of ice cream balls, but you could easily cut the recipe in half or less. This recipe works great for a party! Start with your favorite ice cream or yogurt. When you scoop the ice cream onto baking sheets, don’t worry if they’re not perfect balls. I like to use plastic gloves when rolling the ice cream into balls, but you can use your hands.
