The Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice trains students in three areas: graphic arts, painting and design, in artistic and design faculties. The learning process covers two stages: BA and MA. A modern form of teaching allows students to individually shape the programmes of their studies while the option of selecting their subjects from all the departments ensures a wide offer and facilitates a comprehensive preparation for their future artistic or design work. The Faculty of Design The Chair of Graphic Design trains students in all areas essential for a modern graphic designer in his or her work such as typography, lettering, photography, editorial graphic arts, designing of posters, illustrations, books, web pages, new media and multimedia. The classes involve research, analysis and providing strong theoretical foundations on one hand, and on the other the development of the individual’s abilities in composition, drawing, painting and graphic arts.
