Butterbeer Cupcakes. This is part IV in a mini-series of Harry Potter snacks from the books brought to life (part I is on Honeydukes treats, part II is all about the cauldron cakes, and part III features every wizard's favorite drink—butterbeer!).

Butterbeer Cupcakes

I confess that Butterbeer Cupcakes aren't actually mentioned in the Harry Potter series. In my defense, if JK Rowling had been given one of these while writing the books, she would have found a way to fit them in. They are so exceptional, I wouldn't be surprised if she featured them as a major plot point. I'm only half joking. Humor aside, the release of the final movie is upon us. Yet, as I keep reminding myself, this isn't really goodbye. My collection of Harry Potter books isn't going anywhere. I don't know about you, but I can always use the comfort of an old friend.

These Butterbeer Cupcakes are easily on my list of the top three cupcakes of all time (if you put another one in front of me, I just may declare these the winner). Sunday Sweets: Butterbeer Cupcakes. Love Butterbeer Cupcakes?

Sunday Sweets: Butterbeer Cupcakes

Check out Golden Snitch Butterbeer Cake Pops! Welcome to a very special edition of Sunday Sweets! If you’re new to this blog, let me explain. Sunday Sweets is a series I do every few weeks to share super indulgent recipes that wouldn’t otherwise be featured amongst my healthy, everyday eating recipes. Most days you’ll see healthy fare here, but we all need some sweets now and then, right? . Your cast of characters for the cakes. First, cream your room-temperature butter together with your sugars until well-combined and fluffy, like so: Now beat in your eggs, one by one. Now you’re going to alternate adding buttermilk… Cream soda… And your dry ingredients (whisked together) until they’re all added. I could’ve eaten this entire bowl with a spoon.

And bake for 15 to 17 minutes until a tester comes out clean and the cake springs back slightly when touched. Mmm. Now it’s time for your butterscotch ganache, which will be the filling and be in the buttercream frosting. Cherry Coke Cupcakes. Nothing says fun quite like turning one of your favorite drinks into cupcakes. So far I’ve introduced you to Irish Car Bomb Cupcakes, Limoncello Cupcakes, and Margarita Cupcakes. This time I decided to leave the alcohol behind (for a couple of days anyway, stay tuned for a fun treat later this week!)

And create a cupcake tribute to one of my favorite sodas as a kid. I mentioned yesterday when talking about the Fig Bars that my parents didn’t routinely keep sweets or pop in the house while we were growing up, so we really only got them when it was a special occasion (birthday party/sleepover) or we were eating away from home. I always remember getting a Cherry Coke when we’d find ourselves at Eat n’ Park grabbing dinner. This recipe begins with a chocolate-cola cake, is filled with cherry pie filling, topped with a sugar-cola glaze, then finally topped off with fresh sweetened whipped cream and a cherry, of course. Creme Brulee Cupcakes. Who needs a ramekin?

Creme Brulee Cupcakes

You can serve delicious creme brulee right in a cupcake! I have to give my husband credit for the idea—he’s a genius. Because I have no experience making creme brulee from scratch, I used a boxed mix (Dr. Oetker brand, specifically) and the results were so delicious. Creme Brulee Cupcakes. Can you ever have too many cupcake recipes?

Creme Brulee Cupcakes

Never! Here’s one that I’m so excited I’ve gotten around to trying. I finally bought a kitchen torch about a year ago but I can’t believe I haven’t posted any creme brûléed desserts yet. I love creme brûlée and the way its sugar coating nearly instantly caramelizes thanks to those ingenious kitchen torches. Hamburger Cupcakes. These Orange Crush Cupcakes are the first of the three monthly themed cupcakes I do and this month I chose pop, that is soda to you southern folks! I did end up putting some straight buttercream in the center of the cakes too so there is a hint of creme, which made a delicious orange cream flavor.

Super easy makeup for these cakes just a little prep with orange zesting. For this particular recipe I would suggest using a microplane to get your zest because you will have long strings, which I didn’t notice by my 8 year old did and she didn’t like that. Ingredients: 1 C. 1 1/2 C. 5 Eggs, room temperature (if they are too cold they will make your butter separate) 1 TBS. Zest from 2 oranges (I used one giant one, see that pic? 3 C. 1 TBS Baking Powder.
