Plans for DIY large wall mount easel. I was creating my new studio and wanted a new easel.
The stand-a-lone units I have used are too wobbly and can't take large canvases, so I designed the following one. Very strong, cheap to make, and very flexible. It is a 4 x 4 ft, 5/8 dense particle board, mounted so that it can be set up at any angle between fully vertical to almost horizontal. Cost is less than $50 and takes less than a day to make. It is mounted fairly high so that I can stand and paint. It can handle any size canvas up to 4 x 6 feet and maybe even larger. For the bar that holds the canvas I decided to just hold it on with clamps. I usually work on an angle and a top brace for the canvas is not needed.
The result is a very stable easel - one of my main requirements. Easel in full vertical position One of the working angles. So far simple screws hold up the working surface. These brackets need to allow the arms to swivel, and I have used some old brackets from a garage door opener.
24' standing loft queen bed - Living Big In A Tiny House. Here is my latest design.
A 24′ long tiny house. 8′-5″ wide outside and 13′-5″ high (here 8′-6″ wide and 13′-6″ high are the limits) Trailer built so floor is in the trailer and not on top of it to save height. Also designed so tongue is part of the frame and not under it to save height. Like a boat trailer in a sense. Rear of trailer comes up at a slight angle to give clearance when going over bumps. Has room to stand (6′-2″) on the landing in the ‘loft’ beside the bed. Roof is curved and not coming to a peak at the top to save about 4″ in height. Under the landing would be a closet and shelves for shoes or whatever in the alternating tread stairs.
Bathroom is 32″ wide by the 7-6″ inside width. 24″ counters to use standard apartment size appliances including a stacked washer and dryer witch is beside the fridge on the same wall as the stove. This topic was modified 2 weeks, 2 days ago by Cliff.
