Lester Hightower, VP & CIO, Florida East Coast Railway As I write this article in October of 2017, outdoor video surveillance seems like something that the Florida East Coast Railway (FECR) could not live without, but the truth is that our first sizable installation went into service only in 2014, and the company was founded in 1895.

Outdoor Video Surveillance at the Florida East Coast Railway

FECR’s first outdoor video surveillance installation was part of a large, green field project to build a new intermodal container transfer facility (ICTF) in Ft. One of those technologies is outdoor video surveillance over the large outdoor space that is a railroad ICTF. "The leading benefit of an enterprise video surveillance system is the common, centralized platform that allows users to quickly “see the entire railroad” from a single application" Using Big Data as the Foundation for Success. Kathy Cutler, CIO, DLA In DLA, big data could really be called giant data.

Health Care as it could Be in 2030

Abramson, Ph.D. SVP of Information Services & Technology and CIO, HealthPartners As a Chief Information Officer, I spend the bulk of my management time in the real world of I.T. costs, suppliers, business planning, operations improvement, projects, human dynamics and, of course, risk management and cybersecurity.I expect that is true for most of my peers as well. Achieving alignment of evolving business strategies with the power and delivery of information technology is typically the premier attribute looked for in senior I.T. leaders.

So strategic thinking is not rare in health care or in health care I.T. leadership. Information Governance: Past, Present & Future. Information Governance: Past, Present & Future

One man in particular was speaking in very animated tones causing my ears to perk up a bit. Without any hesitation and in a perfectly deadpanned Brooklyn accent, this man exclaimed “How can I soar with the eagles when I am surrounded by a bunch of turkeys?” I chuckled, but then thought that I’d rather be a turkey than an eagle. Turkeys travel in groups and understand the importance of teamwork. •Past. •Present. •Future.
