6 Quick Ways Teachers Can Be Hip

6 Quick Ways Teachers Can Be Hip

If you’re a teacher and a reader of Edudemic, you’re a hip cat. But what about those teachers and other educators who DON’T read Edudemic? Believe it or not, there are some out there. This post is for them. In an effort to keep all teachers pursuing the best possible ways to integrate education and technology, we thought it might be good to take another look at ways teachers can be hip. By ‘hip’ I simply mean that a teacher is aware of trends and actively engaging to stay on top of what his or her students need.
20 Must-Have Educational Resources For All Teachers Edudemic often features posts providing a list of top resources for a particular category. Recently, the site gettingsmart.com posted the names of the LAUNCHedu finalists chosen by the SXSWedu® Conference, offering even more resources for the Edudemic staff to consider! On March 7, 2012, they will choose winners after a full day of presentations by the finalists. There are so many sites and programs on the Internet already, but this competition just goes to show that the need for educational resources is still great.

A Pearltree of Free Technology for Teachers

A few months ago I wrote Playing With Pearltrees - A Great Way to Organize the Web. Last night I was exploring Pearltrees again when I came across a Pearltree titled Free Technology for Teachers. While the name is the same as my blog, I did not have anything to do with creating that particular Pearltree. That said, many of the resources cataloged in the Free Technology for Teachers Pearltree are excellent resources that I have used and or written about here in the past. If you're looking for a good visual collection of technology resources, take a look at the Pearltree embedded below. A Pearltree of Free Technology for Teachers

Drama Teacher's Network Recently, I started a second series of posts on the text Stolen by Jane Harrison which is on the prescriptions list for 2015-2017 in the Contemporary Australian Theatre Practice section of the syllabus. I wrote about how I introduce the text here. This post and one to follow is a breakdown of two workshops that I have put together for my students. Admittedly, I’ve always found it hard with Stolen to try to combine an understanding of the themes and the characters with an effective link to the dramatic techniques and conventions. I’ve never quite felt like I’ve gotten it 100% right. Drama Teacher's Network
