Ban Horse Slaughter in the UK. Mrs. celia de grammont, United Kingdom Aug 17, 08:14 I ran a ban horse slaughter campaign a few years ago and have thousands of signatures,a letter from the queen, conversations with defra etc and wondered if they could be of help to you......I feel very strongly about this inhumanity but ill health forced me to give it up.......as the 3 years of concerted effort I put in has been wasted and has been of no help to these poor unfortunate horses and ponies....celia.....I look forward to hearing from you as once you have so many signatures you could present to parliament to bring in a bill for controlled breeding which would stop this atrocity....thankyou send a green star Mrs.

Jockey Jason Maguire yesterday (Thursday 3 March) appealed against the seven-day ban he had been served for hitting his mount, Cool Mission, with ‘excessive frequency’, and so hard that the horse came out in weals. Despite the punishment he dished out to Cool Mission, the jockey appears to have offered no public statement of regret, and the horse’s trainer, Donald McCain, even blamed Cool Mission himself – calling him ‘notoriously lazy’.
