I never bake. Like ever. And on Good Friday, Luke and I decided we’d bake our first ever Easter cupcakes together (thought it deserved a blog post). Vanilla Cupcakes: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (177 degrees C) and line 12 muffin cups with paper liners. In the bowl of your electric mixer, or with a hand mixer, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

yes, on the toes of yesterday’s post about tomboy style, i am totally wearing a girly, lacy vintage dress with a bow on it. (though i did balance out the femininity with a sturdy hat and loafers…) but when i laid my eyes on this amazing vintage dress at tender vintage , i knew it had to be mine. it’s a shift dress, but it’s the perfect type of shift because it has darts at the bust and it subtly narrows at the waist before flaring out to a slight a-line skirt. that care for details is what takes a dress that could easily veer into maternity territory from frumpy to a very sassy little number indeed. and it’s exactly the type of detail that i look for when i’m shopping for a little mod dress.

Wooden numbers found at the dollar store (there weren't enough alphabet letters to spell what I had intended, so I settled on the classic '666'), spray painted black & hand rhinestoned Antlers and skull hung by monofilament. All pieces were found at the Alameda Flea Market in California. The antlers are spray painted black & one of which is hand rhinestone'd.

Tomboy Style
It seems like I've been waiting for the book to come out for a while, but really it's gone entirely too quickly. Working on Tomboy Style (both the blog and the book) has easily been the project of my professional life. It was grueling and challenging at times, but I don't think I've felt so passionate about any other work. The best part, in all honesty, has been hearing from you. Your opinions, suggestions and thoughts really shaped the arc of this process— whenever I felt nervous or anxious, I would get a comment or an email or a tweet that shook me by the shoulders and encouraged me that I was on the right track. Thank you for constantly reminding me that there was indeed an audience for this book.

Happy Friday! Phew, I'm glad this week is over. I'm looking forward to starting a new week on the right foot, since this one has not been the best ever. Over the weekend I'll be working on a DIY project to share with you soon, and prepare for an upcoming craft fair - two things that always make my heart lighter. This November 2012 the doors will open at 27 Bruton Street, W1; a six floor beautiful Georgian building dedicated to the World of Temperley. The building will house all three Temperley collections: Temperley London , the ALICE by Temperley contemporary line and Temperley Bridal across two floors equaling 2,500 square foot of retail space including a ‘By Appointment’ private shopping salon. The Bruton location will also hold the Press and Wholesale showrooms and their teams, and the Financial and Ecommerce offices, becoming the new Head Office location for Temperley London Ltd. The Colville Mews boutique in West London’s Notting Hill open since 2002, will be redesigned and become a destination store for Occasion Dressing with a focus on eveningwear and the expanding Temperley Bridal range including ready-to-wear and bespoke bridal collections.
