Extraordinary Off-Grid Hobbit Home in Wales Only Cost £3,000 to Build Simondale Hobbit House – Inhabitat - Green Design Will Save the World
Simon Dale proves that you don't have to have a PhD in Architecture to design and build a beautiful, low-energy home We’ve noticed a surge in hobbit homes as more people throughout the world seek alternatives to the bigger is better model of living. For example, in Switzerland, one family buried their home but opted for more luxurious finishings instead of turning to natural materials as the Dale family has done. The hobbit house’s framing consists of locally-gathered oak thinnings, the retaining walls and foundations were made from stone and mud, and straw bales were used to insulate the floor, walls, and roof.Garden House by David Guerra

I'm not usually a fan of nautical. I grew up in a resort town, ship's wheels and rope decor generally make me itch. Today's estate in Lake Country, British Columbia could change my mind. This home combines a nautical theme with modern architecture and the overall effect is worlds away from the local fish shack. This six-bedroom home has a great room with a huge round window, a canoe seems poised to smash through the center. A curved bar continues the nautical theme and a shower enclosure is designed to mimic the ocean floor, complete with fish.

We often show ingenious ways of hiding the bed . French architects Emmanuel Combarel Dominique Marrec offer a new one: turn it into a sculptural element, in this case a box hanging from the ceiling. Watch Video: World's Greenest Homes From the other side, it is a short step up from the existing mezzanine. Nice idea if you have the ceiling height.Froot is wettelijk verplicht toestemming te vragen voor het gebruik van cookies. Deze hoef je eenmalig te accepteren. Redneck Home Remodels
Everyone has their dream home but because the expense often outweighs the reality, we work with what we have and remodel piece by piece. Even with this more frugal approach, it can be costly; therefore, the list below is an inspirational group of visionaries that have taken their remodeling into their own hands, showing us how to save a buck in the process. ( We thought we’d change things up a bit today and present some home renovations you might not be doing in the near future. ) 1.Contemporary Minimalism Meets Historical Asceticism
Contemporary minimalism usually describes movements in various forms of art and design, especially visual art, where the work is stripped down to its most fundamental features. Such is the case with this historic residential flat in the old port of Jaffa, Tel Aviv – Israel, designed by Israeli-based Pitsou Kedem Architects . The 100 square metre (1,076.4 square feet) residential flat which overlooks the majestic splendour of the Mediterranean Sea is very unique not only for its location, but also for the structure itself. via yatzer

Today’s eye candy comes courtesy of Minneapolis-based firm, Habitat Architecture . They’re definitely working on large-scale residential homes in styles that are probably more traditional than modern, but that’s where their charm comes in; they’re traditional spaces have a modern feel in terms of elements, overall-feel and more.
