London Early Years Foundation 2012 National Business Awards Winner. The London Early Years Foundation (LEYF) has been revealed as a 2012 National Business Awards in partnership with Orange winner. The business was revealed as the Transformational Change winner. A registered charity since 1903, LEYF had grown to employ over 350 staff across 24 community, Children’s Centre and workplace nurseries in six key London boroughs. The organisation had reached a point under the dynamic leadership of Chief Executive June O’Sullivan where the need for a bold, new strategy for growth became clear; one that would remain true to the established Memorandum & Articles yet enable the organisation to positively affect many more children and parents for another 100+ years.

The original model was largely dependent on charitable funding, government grants and Local Authority funding, and so inherently far too insecure – especially considering the nature of the service, i.e. critically centred on the welfare of children and families and the economic climate.
