This paper attempts to place Noah in real time and space. The story of Noah and the Flood in Genesis 6-9 has long been a subject of contention between biblical and secular scholars. The following discussion is based on two assumptions: 1. 2. A Time for Noah Biblical EvidenceThe Bible specifically dates Noah because it traces the genealogy of Adam to Abraham through the line of Seth (Gen. 5).

While a "generation" in the Bible does not necessarily mean a direct father-to-son descent,3 it is still notable that the Bible lists nine "generations" between Adam and Noah (with an average "generation" of about 120 years), but only seven "generations" between Adam (through Cain) and Jabal, Jubal, and Tubal-cain (Gen. 4). The musician occupation of Jubal also fits within this time frame. Table 1. Fig. 1. Biblical archeology  (Archaeology ) Truthnet. Bible Believer's Archaeology - A Bible History Web Book.
