Make Cyber Monday = Green Gift Monday. As soon as the Thanksgiving meal has been cleared from the table, holiday shoppers flock en masse to the retail sales that follow on Black Friday.

Make Cyber Monday = Green Gift Monday

In recent years, the holiday shopping frenzy has expanded to include the Monday after Thanksgiving, also known as Cyber Monday, and it has become a booming sales day for online retailers. This year, we challenge you to make your Cyber Monday green by pledging to gift responsibly and becoming a part of The Nature Conservancy’s Green Gift Monday. The Conservancy created Green Gift Monday to raise awareness for green gifting options and provide ideas – donating to a charity, purchasing eco-friendly gifts or making a homemade gift – for everyone on your gift list. In 2010, The Nature Conservancy introduced Green Gift Monday and had over 65 partners show their support for the event by promoting the campaign and offering their own clever green gifting ideas.

Back for a second year, Green Gift Monday has expanded to include: SCHOPENHAUER'S 38 STRATAGEMS, OR 38 WAYS TO WIN AN ARGUMENT. Arthur Schopenhauer (1788-1860), was a brilliant German philosopher.

SCHOPENHAUER'S 38 STRATAGEMS, OR 38 WAYS TO WIN AN ARGUMENT

These 38 Stratagems are excerpts from "The Art of Controversy", first translated into English and published in 1896. Carry your opponent's proposition beyond its natural limits; exaggerate it. The more general your opponent's statement becomes, the more objections you can find against it. The more restricted and narrow his or her propositions remain, the easier they are to defend by him or her. Use different meanings of your opponent's words to refute his or her argument.

Starbucks Drinks Simplified (kinda)

Please update your bookmark to the new URL, as I’m not sure how much longer the old site will be up. Thank you! Since many people seem to be overly confused by the wide variety of options available at Starbucks, I’ve put together this handy-dandy page to help you figure out what you want without spending hours staring blankly at a menu. I’ve tried to include as much info as possible. Some things on this page may be horribly out of date. Think you’ve seen this exact info somewhere else? Drink Sizes Short: 8 oz. Why the weird sizes? Basic Drinks Coffee: Plain black coffee, brewed less than an hour ago. Espresso Bar Drinks Latte: Espresso, steamed milk, and foam. Non-Espresso Bar Drinks Blended Drinks These have changed a lot since I last worked at Starbucks. Caffeination. Fallacy List. 1.

Fallacy List

FAULTY CAUSE: (post hoc ergo propter hoc) mistakes correlation or association for causation, by assuming that because one thing follows another it was caused by the other. example: A black cat crossed Babbs' path yesterday and, sure enough, she was involved in an automobile accident later that same afternoon. example: The introduction of sex education courses at the high school level has resulted in increased promiscuity among teens. A recent study revealed that the number of reported cases of STDs (sexually transmitted diseases) was significantly higher for high schools that offered courses in sex education than for high schools that did not. 2.

SWEEPING GENERALIZATION: (dicto simpliciter) assumes that what is true of the whole will also be true of the part, or that what is true in most instances will be true in all instances. example: Muffin must be rich or have rich parents, because she belongs to ZXQ, and ZXQ is the richest sorority on campus. 3. 4. 5.
