Tuto Half Granny Square

Lost & Found Lane: Crocodile Stitch The Easy Way

All I could find were youtube video's that are very confusing in demonstrating how they crochet this stitch. I had to stop and start the videos over and over again to get the basic idea of the stitch. It was most confusing the way they were flipping the crochet around it was so hard to fallow along. It was even more frustrating when it came to watching them start the second row of the Crocodile stitch. However after a lot a trial and error and even more hair pulling I finally figured out how to crochet the Crocodile stitch on my own. If you would like a copy of the common crochet abbreviations I have created a "Crochet Abbreviations" reference sheet. Thank you so much for all your support and all your lovely comments.

The structure of the circles is made from plastic rings cut from one of those pieces that holds together a six-pack of soda. The hardest part will be in finding plastic rings that are actually circle. The sodas that were in my fridge (a Pepsi product) had "rings" that were more of an oval, almost D-like shape. Luckily I had a rounded version laying around, though I have no idea what kind of soda it came from. I am going to have to go to the 7-Eleven for research. What you need: Worsted weight cotton yarn in colors that you like. Round six-pack rings, trimmed apart into circles. Size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook Begin by attaching your yarn with a slip stitch to a ring.

If 45 dc seem to be too many or too few to fill up your ring, you can adjust accordingly! Now lay them out like this with each ring overlapping the next: You're ready to make the center ring.
