Forestry and Timbersports. The Forestry and Timbersports Club at NC State University competes in timbersports competitions against other colleges across the southeast.
Timbersports is a sport that mimics traditional logging techniques. Physical events involve axes, crosscut saws, chainsaws, throwing axes, and throwing knives; just to mention a few. Also at the competitions are technical events such as: wildlife ID, air photo interpretation, plant ID, timber estimation, and wood ID. During the school year the club competes in four competitions.
