Balancing School and Play With These Time Management Skills. Many of us had the good sense to skate through high school, and perhaps even our first semester gen-eds, but soon enough, your schoolwork and social life will be at odds. To make it all work, it just takes the smart incorporation of good time management skills. If you’ve never had to do this before, don’t despair, we’ve got the hook-up right here. 1. Kill The Procrastinator Within This is the number one rule of time management. 2. What did we ever do before there was an app for that?

3. Now that you’ve got all of your ducks in a row, it’s time to make a schedule. 4. You may think a calendar is essentially the same thing as a schedule, but it really isn’t. 5. Make yourself follow rules such as, no television during the day, no Facebook on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and no drinking on weeknights. Study. Student-Powered Lifehacking. Money — Do’s And Don’t’s. In college, money is a scarce commodity. Used for everything from getting food, alcohol, and, occasionally, text-books, money is something you want to hold on to. But sometimes it can confuse us: you have to spend money to make money, but a penny saved is a penny earned. What’s a guy to do? Well, with A few quick do’s and don’ts for every situation this should help you keep the most money for your life without sacrificing life quality.

Don’t: Skimp on essentials. If you think you can save four dollars on some suspicious off-brand condoms, think again. Do: Downgrade things you won’t notice. If you’re not buying your books used, you’re making a crazy mistake. Don’t: Buy bulk items as a one-of. Single cans of a soda usually cost about a buck, maybe more in a restaurant. Do: Sharing is caring A Netflix password is good for more than just one person. Don’t: Spend money on crap. I don’t care if it’s on sale. Do: Buy eggs and bananas. Are you ready for it? I wasn’t—expecting to run the campus my first semester, I hit a wall. I made no friends (at least good ones), my schoolwork struggled, and my health was in the pooper. Fortunately for me, a miracle in disguise happened. 1.

Unless you are a star football or basketball player, what you did in high school is irrelevant. The main thing to take away from this is to be yourself…your best self! 2. Let’s be real, many people do it in college. The point is: drink responsibly if you like to drink. 3. One of the main worries of freshman is that they will not make any friends going into this new, undiscovered place called college. Here’s the deal: There are a ton of kids in college. There is a golden trifecta from How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie. Five Things To DO.

With school coming up, it’s only natural that you don’t feel like doing stuff. If you did feel like doing it, you already would have. So with that said, here are seven of the things you said you’d get to this summer, didn’t, and really should, even during the school year. For example: 1: Watch Breaking Bad It doesn’t have to be Breaking Bad (although it should be.) 2: Get In Shape We all said we would this summer. 3: Replace Your Stuff If you’ve been using the same backpack for years, consider: is it loyalty or laziness?

4: Call Home You’ve been meaning to call home, but things keep getting in the way, right? 5: Figure Out Your Plans Housing for next year; your classes, your major, whatever it is, get started on it soon.
