The Parker Crochet Diaper Cover - Sewrella

In honor of Mother's Day tomorrow, I've completed something which will soon be a cherished crochet piece for this Mama-to-be - a newborn set! This is the final installment of my first ever newborn set that has been named for the bun that is still cookin' away in my oven (but not for much longer - less than two weeks to go!) - Parker Owen. I can't wait to update this post with photos of my little peanut wearing the hat, booties, and bum cover named after him!

It will seriously make this crocheting mama's heart flutter. I had seen lots and lots of newborn sets that were themed or character-based, but I wanted my nugget to shine in his newborn photos - not be competing with his outfit. Crochet Club: The Out & About Backpack! Perfect for summer outings, Kate Eastwood’s gorgeous “Out & About” Backpack is great fun to make, and a perfect gift!

Crochet Club: The Out & About Backpack!

On those ‘out and about’ sort of days, what could be more perfect to put all your bits and bobs in than this pretty backpack! The measurements of the finished backpack are approx. H 42cm x W 37cm x D 12cm, and it is modelled here by my daughter who is 5’4” tall. The back pack is designed to have a flap over top, under which is a drawstring tie and there is a small carry handle at the top of the backpack , as well as two shoulder straps. I used four balls of Hoooked Eco Barbante for my backpack in Gris 0270 using a 3.5mm hook. As this yarn is a little too stiff to create a soft border, I used 1 x ball of Sirdar Cotton Rich Aran in Cream 0001 for all my edging using a 4mm hook. You will also need approx. 75cm of cord for the drawstring, some ribbon and a popper to fasten down the flap.

To begin make a chain of 26. Round 2: Chain 1 and work a 2nd DC in to the same stitch. Book cover crochetpattern. Chunky Crochet Blanket Pattern. Hi everyone!

Chunky Crochet Blanket Pattern

You all know that I love sharing simple crochet patterns and today I have a fun crochet blanket pattern that I know you will enjoy making. This chunky blanket is a fun beginner friendly crochet pattern that works up in little to no time and will be sure keep you warm on these cold winter days that are still ahead. I worked this up in just a few days because of the super bulky yarn, Lion Brand Thick & Quick that I used. This is one of those patterns that once you get the first few rows in you are good to let your mind go and just crochet! I have to admit that I sat in front of the TV with my pajamas, coffee and Netflix for about two evenings while working on this!
