Rubik's Cube Solution - Petrus Method. By Lars Petrus Introduction This is a tutorial for my method of solving Rubik's Cube. It is intended both for beginners and experienced cubers. There is no group theory or written notation involved, I just show you how to move. You very much need a Java-enabled browser. Using this method, I won the 1981 Swedish championships, and finished 4th in the 1982 world championships in Budapest. I'm very happy to provide this site as a free service to the world! Please take a look at my terminology, so you know the difference between a turn and a twist, for example. If you are a total beginner, look at this description of the basic concepts of Rubiks Cube. The animated Java cubes that are used for illustrations and examples are explained here.

The Basic Idea Most people solve the cube layer by layer. In the final of the Swedish championship, 8 of 11 competitors used a vanilla layer-by-layer method. The basic problem with the layer method is a big one, and it's obvious once you realize it. The Method. Slot Adictos - Ladrillo de madera en construcción. Actualizado 29/04/07 - Slot Adictos.

A playing card is a piece of specially prepared heavy paper, thin cardboard, plastic-coated paper, cotton-paper blend, or thin plastic, marked with distinguishing motifs and used as one of a set for playing card games. Playing cards are typically palm-sized for convenient handling. History[edit] Early history[edit] A Chinese playing card dated c. 1400 AD, Ming Dynasty, found near Turpan, measuring 9.5 by 3.5 cm. By the 11th century, playing cards were spread throughout the Asian continent.[9]:309 During the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644), characters from novels such as the Water Margin were widely featured on the faces of playing cards.[9]:132 Introduction into Europe[edit] The Mameluke deck contained 52 cards comprising four "suits:" polo sticks, coins, swords, and cups.

Medieval gambling cards, from the year 1377. Spread across Europe and early design changes[edit] No examples of printed cards from before 1423 survive. Poker. A game of Texas hold 'em in progress. "Hold 'em" is a popular form of poker. Poker has gained in popularity since the beginning of the twentieth century, and has gone from being primarily a recreational activity confined to small groups of enthusiasts, to a widely popular activity, both for participants and spectators, including online, with many professional players and multi-million dollar tournament prizes. History[edit] English actor Joseph Cowell reported in his memoirs[1] that the game was played in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1829, with a deck of 20 cards, and four players betting on which player's hand was the most valuable.[2] Jonathan H.

Modern tournament play became popular in American casinos after the World Series of Poker (WSOP) began, in 1970.[5] Notable champions from these early WSOP tournaments include Johnny Moss, Amarillo Slim, Bobby Baldwin, Doyle Brunson, and Puggy Pearson. Gameplay[edit] Variants[edit] WSOP Main Event Table Straight Stud poker Draw poker See also[edit] Poker. Poker. Poker is not a single card game, but a broad class of card games. A poker game can have a simple name like "guts", or it may have a cumbersome name such as "seven card stud eight-or-better high-low split". Most common poker variants, including all those covered in this book, share a fifty-two card "poker deck" (though the playing card deck itself precedes poker by hundreds of years), and certain rules for hand rankings. Common principles Variants Five Card Draw Games These games are played by dealing exactly five cards to each player and then allowing a number of cards to be replaced or drawn from the deck.

Players must make the best (or worst) hand with the five cards that they end up with after the draw. Five Card Stud Games These games are played by dealing exactly five cards to each player. Five Card Stud Seven Card Stud Games Generally these games are played by dealing seven cards to each player. Community Card Games Match Pot Games Three Strikes Games Scat (31, Blitz) Strategy. Bluff. In the card game of poker, a bluff is a bet or raise made with a hand which is not thought to be the best hand.

To bluff is to make such a bet. The objective of a bluff is to induce a fold by at least one opponent who holds a better hand. The size and frequency of a bluff determines its profitability to the bluffer. By extension, the term is often used outside the context of poker to describe the act of making threats one cannot execute. A pure bluff, or stone-cold bluff, is a bet or raise with an inferior hand that has little or no chance of improving. A player making a pure bluff believes he can win the pot only if all opponents fold.

In games with multiple betting rounds, to bluff on one round with an inferior or drawing hand that might improve in a later round is called a semi-bluff. Bluffing may be more effective in some circumstances than others. The opponent's current state of mind should be taken into consideration when bluffing. Quake. ASCII Generator. ASCII stereogram. ASCII stereograms are a form of ASCII art based on stereograms to produce the optical illusion of a three-dimensional image by crossing the eyes appropriately using a single image or a pair of images next to each other. To obtain the 3D effect (in Figure 1 for instance), it is necessary for the viewer to diverge their eyes such that two adjacent letters in the same row come together ( ). To help in focusing, try to make the two capital Os at the top look like three.

Ensure that the image of the central dot is stable and in focus. Once this has been done, look down at the rest of the image and the 3D effect should become apparent. If the Os at the bottom of Figure 1 look like three, then the effect is reversed. Figure 1: Near and far distances. Pinball is a type of arcade game, usually coin-operated, in which points are scored by a player manipulating one or more steel balls on a play field inside a glass-covered cabinet called a pinball machine. The primary objective of the game is to score as many points as possible.

Points are earned when the ball strikes different targets on the play field. A drain is situated at the bottom of the play field, protected by player-controlled plastic bats called flippers. A game ends after all the balls fall into the drain. Secondary objectives are to maximize the time spent playing (by earning "extra balls" and keeping the ball in play as long as possible) and to earn bonus games (known as "replays"). History[edit] Pre-modern: Development of outdoor and tabletop ball games[edit] The origins of pinball are intertwined with the history of many other games.
