The OPEN partners recommend TAACCCT grantees invest up-front time finding OER to reuse rather than starting development of new educational resources right away. A significant benefit of OER is that they provide source material to build your development efforts around. No need to invest development effort in creating something that already exists. OER come in a wide variety of types. The page below will help you find openly licensed media elements to use within your courses. OER also exist as distinctly education content such as full courses, workshops, textbooks, tests and assessments.

Open Educational Resources are distributed across the Internet. 1. Scholarly Communication and Digital Curation. (This policy was approved by vote at the general Faculty meeting, November 27, 2012, at the Student Center Theater. Will take effect January 1, 2013.) The Faculty of Georgia Tech is committed to disseminating the fruits of its research and scholarship as widely as possible. In addition to the public benefit of such dissemination, this policy is intended to serve faculty interests by promoting greater reach and impact for articles, simplifying author retention of distribution rights, and aiding in electronic preservation.

In keeping with these commitments, the Faculty adopts the following policy: Each Faculty member grants to Georgia Tech Research Corporation (hereinafter "GTRC") nonexclusive permission to make available his or her scholarly articles and to exercise the copyright in those articles for the purpose of open dissemination. The policy and service model will be reviewed after three years and a report presented to the Faculty. Open Professionals Education Network. Platform+ The OLI platform, enhanced by Universal Design for Learning principles, enables instructional designs that embed practice and assessment throughout the course and provide a complete, supported learning experience.

Co-Development For this more intensive collaboration, OLI is leading teams composed of multiple subject matter experts, CAST experts, course developers, learning scientists, human computer interaction experts, assessment experts and software engineers to develop and deliver OER in accordance with current learning research.
