Tutorial Exploding Box.

Loveumadly. Last weekend, I met a family friend’s lovely girlfriend for the first time. She’s a nutritionist, so naturally I pounced on her. What are foods to absolute avoid? What do you think of that Paelo diet? What do you eat as a snack – and don’t you dare tell me carrots! I highly doubt this is how she wanted to spend her Sunday in the Hamptons, but I was relentless. She basically believes in moderation. Very little red meat. So what’s a girl to do with all her extra Crystal Light (because we know I’m not giving up my Diet Coke so fast)? Crystal Light Lip Gloss Materials: Vaseline or Un-Petroleum Jelly Crystal Light (I used Cherry Pomegranate and Raspberry Lemonade) (Kool-Aid apparently work as well, but I haven’t tried) a small container (i charmed a salesperson at Sephora and they gave me a bunch of these) a mixing tool (I used a plastic knife after my q-tip got too goopy) Fill the empty small container with your Un-Petroleum Jelly.

(DIY Source: How Does She) DIY Washi Tape Laptop Keyboard. Look whose little old MacBook got a facelift this weekend! I spotted this idea from minifanfan on Making It Lovely last week and just had to give it my own spin. I purchased my Japanese washi tape from Le Box Boutique on Etsy. There are hundreds of washi tape sellers but I chose Le Box because they allow you to purchase tape by the foot rather than having to purchase the entire roll. They were very easy to interact with and I would definitely recommend them if you’re looking to purchase washi tape! I chose these ten patterns but only ended up using eight of them on my keyboard. The purple and blue patterns looked a bit more opaque than the others when applied to the keys and I’m kind of crazy when it comes to matchy-matchiness. I first thoroughly cleaned my keyboard with rubbing alcohol to remove any dirt or oil that might keep the tape from sticking.

This project was a bit tedious but simple – perfect for a few hours in front of the tv. What do you think? Tagged as: craft, diy, tutorial. Handwriting font creator. Most favorited. Create Your Own Gallery Style Wall | The Daily Dose. Having a print or gallery style wall in your flat is really talk of the town in the interior scene right now. This easy option to bring some life to a plain wall is inexpensive (if you’re not going after real art) and at the same time a way for you to express your style. Are you the classic type? Go for bright picture frames and tone in tone prints and hang them up in a row. More of the outgoing personality? Mix up frames and prints, go for bold colors and don’t be afraid of the hanging pattern you choose.

Kindle Case Tutorial. I know it’s not Tuesday but I’m changing things up a bit and posting this tutorial today. (I normally post my tutorials on tuesday…)..

Next Tuesday I’m *hoping* to be able to have a much needed shop update! I got a Kindle a few years ago, and have loved it! When I saw they were coming out with a new one, I decided it was time to pass mine onto my daughter (less books to haul around at at school). The new one came this week and my old cover didn’t fit it. I knew very quickly that it would need a cover to survive bouncing around in the depths of my very unorganized purse! This project is a great scrap buster!

It’s lined with fusible fleece and corduroy. To keep it from getting dirty, I laminated the fabric first. You will need: 2 piece of fabric for the front and back, each 6″x8.5″. 2 pieces fusible fleece 6″ x 8.5″ 2 pieces iron on vinyl (buy it in a roll at the fabric store next to the wonder under), 6″ x 8.5″ 2 pieces iron on vinyl 4″ x 6″ 2 pieces fabric for flap 4″ x 6″ Teflon foot. How-to: Rock-n-Roll Birthday Party | warmhotchocolate. For my son’s 4th birthday, we threw a rock-themed party (aka Jason Fest 4) for Jason and his friends.

I haven’t come across a lot of rock-themed children’s party resources online, so I’ve compiled my ideas and inspiration here. The Invitations Inspired by this post on Momtastic, I created the invitations out of vintage records. I posted a how-to with printable templates for the invitations here. The ‘Mod Your Guitar’ Station As guests arrived, we directed them to the guitar station, where each child was given a personalized guitar and strap. I found the pre-cut guitar shapes at Michaels, along with the ribbon.

The Stage The stage was the focal point of the party, and our plan was to set it up in the backyard under a canopy. I was very lucky in creating the drum set because I happened to find a Rock Band drum set at a thrift store for under $10. The speakers were largely inspired by a window display at Crewcuts. This hand scrub idea comes from Jill’s Gardner’s Hand Scrub at One Good Thing by Jillee. It only includes two ingredients: sugar and liquid soap! This hand scrub will not only make your hands feel soft and smooth, it can help remove grime from your hands!

This would also make a great Christmas gift! I used 4 ounce jelly jars, granulated sugar and Dial body wash. Place 1/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon granulated sugar in the jar. Top with about 2 tablespoons of liquid soap. Slowly mix the sugar and soap together. The result is a grainy, shimmery mixture. Attach “hand scrub” labels with craft glue. Attach directions using craft glue.

I am not sure how long this will last because this is my first time making it but since the soap I used it antibacterial I think it should last fairly well! March 22, 2011 | Projects | Comments We’re loving these Anthro-inspired zinc letters! Kristin, a very lovely Charmer, sent over this easy and affordable craft project. Kristin bought seven letters for less than the price of one at Anthropologie! You go girl… we love a great deal ; ) Check out the tutorial below and thank you Kristin for sending this adorable project over! Supplies: Black acrylic paint, Folk Art pearl paint, cardboard letters and a paint brush. Directions: Paint the letters all black and let them dry.

Can I show you how to make an elephant doorstop that's bursting with so much cuteness you won't want to put it on the floor? The plan for this sweet thing was to have her hold my little girl Laney's door open, but the thought of kicking it out of the way every time I wanted to close the door made me change my mind... Miss. Elephant is now safely perched on top of Shel Silverstein on the bookshelf and far away from our feet. Are you relieved? Wanna make one? Use the pattern to cut each of your pieces out of felt. Now the fun part! One quirky thing about the elephant pattern is that it didn't include a tail pattern piece so I made up my own. The picture below is how I pieced the tail in. Keep whip stitching around the rest of the elephant. Now for my secret weapon... pull out that freebie can gripper that you got at the fair (the flexible plastic one) and use it to grip your needle when it gets really hard to pull it through two layers of felt and the fabric on the ears.

Pierson’s Pizzeria! Little Chef Pizza Birthday Party : Anders Ruff Custom Designs : I am so excited to share my son’s recent Little Chef Pizza Birthday Party! I transformed our breakfast and family room into a modern Italian Pizzeria where the children got to be little chefs and make their own pizzas. This party is full of DIY crafts for dramatic decorations that make a big impact. Pizza themed games and activities were perfect to keep the kids busy while their pizzas were baking!

Pierson has been begging for a Pizza Party all year long. Growing up, I always loved when my friends had pizza parties but they were never that “visually appealing”. There are so many details but make sure to keep an eye out for: LOTS of details so hopefully I organized things enough so you can get through it ;) Meanwhile, we will be adding all the Pizza Party Printables shown above in the shop here.

The children entered “Pierson’s Pizzeria” they were instructed to get into pizza making mode by getting dressed like a real pizza chef! My breakfast room was transformed into a pizzeria. Coffee Sugar Scrub Recipe {homemade gift idea} - sevenclowncircus.com. Flower Thumb Tacks | Stars & Sunshine. I’ve been working lately on making my office-cubicle-space a little bit happier. I already shared the paper sorter I made from cereal boxes. Today, I’m sharing some thumb tacks I prettied up with some resin flowers.

I got a silicone mold a while back from etsy to make these super cute dahlia/chrysanthemum cabochons. When I got the mold, I used it to make some earrings out of clay. This time, I used resin to make the flower cabochons. I used three different resin dyes – an opaque white, transparent blue, and transparent green – to make a range of slightly different colored push pins. Since my mold only has three flower spaces and they take at least 12 hours to harden, I could only make three pins at a time. Then just set it aside to dry overnight, and popped them out it the morning. Once I had my flowers, I just superglued them onto plain silver pushpins. And here there are holding up some of my favorite pictures in my office!

Thankfully everyone seems to be making a switch from plastic to lasting when it comes to shopping bags, so here’s another fun little tutorial on customizing one to make it oh so cute. You might notice a lot of doilies in my recent diy projects. Since I was getting so many ready for A Christmas Gathering I used a lot of the same materials…monograms seems to be pretty popular now too. My friend Cindy called while I was working on this and suggested I just go ahead a put a “W” on it for her, I happily obligied. Canvas bag ($2.00 when on sale at Hobby Lobby), fabric paint, paper doily, Krylon Paper Finishes Adhesive Spray : Spray doily with paper spray adhesive and press down on the bag (not shown) . : Gently paint over the holes – I recommend paint meant for fabric, not crafts. . : Peel back doily before paint dries.
