Wave | 2012-04-30

A wave is a live, shared space on the web where people can discuss and work together using richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more.

Google has stopped development on Google Wave over a year ago (2010-12-31). Wave will become read-only on January 31, 2012, and users won’t be able to create new ones by that time. On April 30 Wave will be turned off completely.

As we announced in August 2010, we are not continuing active development of Google Wave as a stand-alone product. Google Wave will be shut down in April 2012. This page details the implication of the turn down process for Google Wave. During this time, you will continue to be able to export your waves using the existing PDF export feature.

We're looking at ways to continue and extend Wave technology in other Google products, open sourcing more of our code and providing support for our loyal users and Apps customers. Thank you for your outpouring of support and kind comments . http://googlewave.blogspot.com/2010/08/quick-note-on-next-steps-for-google.html
