Modoboa - Modular domains & mailboxes hosting

Trac is a really good product but lacks of many interesting features (like the multi-projects one). Redmine seems to be a good candidate and is more simple to deploy. The content is resetted every two hours, you'll be able to test almost everything. If you find any issue and if you want to discuss about functionalities, do not hesitate! You can post to the mailing list or join the IRC channel #modoboa on freenode.
Since its beginnings as a Microsoft Exchange alternative for small- to medium-sized businessed, the Open-Xchange collaboration suite has stretched a bit beyond just a messaging solution. The flagship product, Open-Xchange Server, is regarded as a full collaborative platform, particularly with the addition of the Infostore document sharing module. Here's how to install Open-Xchange Server to start on the way to replacing Exchange. Open-Xchange comes in a multitide of flavors. There is, of course, the stand-alone Server Edition, as well as the Hosting Edition that delivers Open-Xchange to users as a Web app.

Sassy Cyrus SASL (Say that 5 times fast!)

One of the greatest challenges in migrating my server from a managed FreeBSD server to the new OpenBSD server was learning how to implement support for SASL on SMTP connections. This seems like something so elementary in a mail server that it should be really simple. Unfortunately, simply installing the cyrus-sasl package doesn’t handle the integration with sendmail for you nor is there any really good documentation online. I was particularly disappointed that OpenBSD’s documentation was completely silent on how to do it. After searching online nearly all searches for SASL on OpenBSD were for Postfix. Fortunately I did come across an article on how to do it.

Summary: Anybody who sends email has seen them, in one form or another - those SMTP error codes, often returned in bounced email, such as "550 Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable" or "550 5 2 1 mail from refused spam site." These are often in response to SMTP commands that have 'gone wrong' between your email server that sent the email, and the receiving email server that is unable to deliver it (or refuses to deliver it) for some reason. But what exactly do they mean? And why should you care? ('SMTP' stands for Simple Mail Transfer Protocol.) First, here is a list of SMTP messages and error messages, and what each message is supposed to say and mean

MaxBulk Mailer FAQ - SMTP Server Response Codes

SMTP servers use to respond to commands using a defined set of codes. This page is a small guide to the codes mail servers may produce when you try to send mail along with their meanings. They are part of the SMTP protocol (the set of rules used to send emails). The first generally tells whether the server accepted the command and if it could handle it. The five possible values are:
