Made Us Look: Your Favorite TV Characters as Paper Dolls. Paper dolls will forever hold a special place in our hearts. The classic art project is so easy to make, and the entertainment is endless. Since our pre-tech crazed youth, the creative pastime has definitely taken a turn for the digital. Nowadays, paper dolls come in 3D, and of course are mostly pieced together online (which kind of cancels out the paper aspect, womp womp). Of course, we’re totally for new technology, but we can’t say were not a little sad to see our paper pals be swept under the rug. So you can imagine our delight when we found out that pop culture blog Vulture has revived the old craft — and with a modern twist. Artist Kyle Hilton has created sets of paper dolls out of the characters we hold near and dear to our pop culture-loving hearts.

Each paper doll comes with multiple outfits and accessories. So what’s the point of all this? Which paper doll is your favorite? Cortney is a blogger and DIY enthusiast living in Los Angeles. DIY Harry Potter Book Handbag. 6 Amazingly Simple Hairstyles That Every Lazy Girl Needs To Know [VIDEO] FANCY PANTS MARSHMALLOWS | The Kitchy Kitchen. Happiness is a homemade marshmallow nestled in a cup of steaming hot cocoa. Or actually, happiness is about one minute later, when the marshmallow starts to melt, slowly enveloping the chocolate in a blanket of white sweetness. Of course it’s easiest to reach into a bag and pop a jet puffed marshmallow on top of your cup, but if you have a little bit of time (truly, it doesn’t take that long to whip up a batch, about 20 minutes) making marshmallows by scratch really makes a difference. First off, the texture is so much more tender and yielding than anything out of the bag, and secondly, you can add any kind of flavor you please.

Imagine a cloud of salted caramel and bourbon melting into rich chocolate. Yep. That can be you! Until a next post DIY’er! Chevron pendant tutorial... A couple of weeks ago, I shared this tutorial I have never created a craft using using chevron and not necessarily because I don't love it, but because I am linearly challenged. So to offset my linear challenge, I reverted to my "comfort zone" of polymer clay and today want to share with you some cute chevron patterned jewelry.

Materials Two different colours of polymer clay Parchment paper Sharp blade Ring blank, brooch blank or pendant blank Chain (optional) 1. I added a few pretty extras to my pendant. And here are some other pieces I made, while the clay was out...

I always rediscover my love for clay and once again realized why clay is one of my favourite mediums. Thank you for stopping by, see you soon. much love, Lucy. Inkling: paper clip & junk mail bracelet. Making a paperclip chain or bracelet has been around for probably as long as paperclips. I saw a fun paperclip bracelet here that took the paperclip chain to a new level by wrapping paper around each clip to form paper beads.

I’ve been wanting to use up some of my security envelope stash for awhile. The insides of security or junk mail envelopes have such pretty designs and are perfect for a project like this. This project is super simple and would be fun to make with younger kids. Simply clip your paper clips together to the desired length or your bracelet. Add a clasp. Keep wrapping until all your clips are covered. Finish with a coat of Glossy Mod Podge. Would you believe these were once the inside of junk mail and bill envelopes? I can’t wait to make more of these. Happy Recycling and thanks for visiting! I link at the wonderful parties listed here. DIY geometric clay rings | KITTENHOOD. One item that I've been seeing often on Pinterest is the scrabble tile coaster.

This appeals to me instantly because it involves upcycling. To find the materials to make this, I bought an old scrabble board and tiles from a yard sale. I hope to use the board itself in future projects. If you plan on making multiples, keep in mind that certain letters will disappear fast! Most often, I've seen these coasters with terms like 'beer', 'hops', 'brew', and 'shot', but I wanted to make some with a geeky theme, so I decided to make some with characters names from Game of Thrones (one of my favorite shows) instead.

Here is the final result: Although there are many tutorials for making this sort of item, the one I referenced most often was from thegourmetgab. To make this you will need: wood glue modge podge scrabble tiles thin cork xacto knifeSteps: First, I made a list of names I wanted to use that were of the same length (or shorter if there are enough blanks in the set).

DIY Braided Bead Bracelet. It’s been awhile since our last bracelet DIY. I don’t know about you, but our wrists have been begging for another colorful addition for months now. So after playing with some materials that were already on hand, we’ve created a tutorial for a braided bead bracelet, which is a not so distant cousin of the hex nut and wrap bracelet. Because honestly, you can never have too many . . . You’ll need: Cut the waxed linen cord into a 26″ and 19″ piece. Fold the longer strand in half. Tie a knot about half an inch down from the loops. Start braiding the strands. Push the bead against the base of the braid, and cross the left strand over the middle. Keep a finger at the base of the braid, holding the beads in their place and keeping the braid tight.

Finish the bracelet with another inch of braided cord, measuring it against the wrist. Thread on a two hole button – two strands through one hole and one strand through another. Trim the end. Your bracelet is finished! (all images by HonestlyWTF) Lifestyle | Home of the DIY Ninja! Amazing what you can create with such inexpensive items! 2012 Album. June was busy. If you don't remember, this past summer I interned with the U.S. Attorney's office for the Eastern District of New York [located in Brooklyn, NY]. Phillip interned for Department of Commerce [located in Washington DC]. So we had to live in separate cities during our internships. I have been loving the trend that everyone has been following using their silhouettes to create negative lettering. One thing we explored in DC this summer was the national arboretum. This next page is about my job. Next I made a smaller page to detail some of the little things that I did while living alone/during June. On the back I journaled about going out to brunch one weekend when Phillip came to visit.

I created a page about our visit to Coney Island with a couple of our friends. Also, if you can tell from these photos I haven't shared every single page this month. I ended the month, and the album, with a tag of a photo of me from June. Ajweek26.jpg (JPEG Image, 600 × 800 pixels) - Scaled (79.
