My sister had a birthday recently and I wanted to show you what I gave her for a gift. I have downloaded several different subway arts from various bloggers. I change them out with the holidays and seasons and they make me really happy. So, I decided to print up a bunch of them on cardstock and give them to my sister with a frame so that she could feel the joy, too. Almost all of these came from the blog Eighteen25. The Fathers day print is designed to fit either a 8x10 or 5x7 frame. The HI print is designed to fit a 8x10 frame, but has many colors choices. I have sort of had an obsession this Christmas with anything bottlebrush - trees, wreaths, etc. It all started with a bottlebrush wreath that I bought at my favorite store in Utah, The Busy Biddy.
I began looking at tons of pictures from different blogs and then became offically crazy. With this project, I really just wanted to do something super simple (obviously these little jars and trees could be totally bedazzled) that just showed off mini bottlebrush trees covered in snow. I found all of my trees at Hobby Lobby for super cheap. The red kitchen: Christmas Tally (and a free printable) M is for Merry Christmas! I hope everyone had a great weekend! I had a LONG week last week so I was glad to get some relaxing and crafting done. I had a mini crisis when I realized Christmas is almost here! (Or at least, the time to send out all packages so that they get to family in time!) At work we use Photoshop a lot but I've been trying to use Illustrator a little more so today's tutorial I created for you in Adobe Illustrator! I hope you like it!
It's a perfect single sized serving of deliciousness! For each package you'll need:1 1/2 cups rice krispies1 1/2-2 cups mini marshmallows1 sandwich bag1 snack size bag Just add the rice krispies to the sandwich bag and the marshmallows to the snack size bag and layer together like the photo above. I call this monogram the 'Letter Behind' because I really had no idea what else to call it. This monogram consists of the couples names with their last name (or soon to be last name) first initial behind the names. Thus the name 'Letter Behind' monogram. This monogram can be done in two ways, its just a matter of switching the type of fonts that we use. I'll show you two different ways. Here is look #1: Step 1 Open a new canvas in Photoshop. Mine monogram is going to be Pink and Black. Step 2 Select the color you want for the names in front. Step 3 Type in you and your FIs names. Step 4 Add a new layer by selecting the Add a New Layer icon. Step 5 Change; the font color, the font size (somewhere around 150) and the font to a script font (I am using the Brock Font).
Step 6 If you notice the last name is now in front of the names. Step 7 Depending on your colors you may not be able to read the names. Step 8 Use the same font as the initial to add the date. We hope this isn't coming to you too late. we didn't have any graduates this year and weren't too sure when the majority of graduations were. if you'd like to personalize your print to specific school colors, we're sharing a photoshop elements tutorial for doing just that. step one: open file as a photoshop [PSD] document. select the first layer you would like to change. step two: go to edit>fill layer step three: under contents, you want to use color step four: choose the color you want to use for that layer step five: make sure the opacity is at 100% and make sure the Preserve Transparency box is checked at the bottom.
Step six: your layer should now be a new color. select the next layer you want to change and repeat the steps. step seven: continue until all of your layers are changed step eight: click on the more button and select flatten image step nine: go to file>save as and save your new document... make sure to save it as a JPEG this time. Some people had seen it on my personal blog and wondered if they could get copies. So here they are. They were created as 4x6 images, so you can take them to wherever you go to get regular pictures developed (I recommend choosing either a lustre or matte finish and NOT the glossy because with glossy people's fingerprints will get on them). When I created these, I hadn't planned on posting them ever on the internet so I didn't really pay attention to whose kits I was using.
