Addressing Shame As White Racial Justice Advocates | Hackman Consulting Group. A couple of weeks ago I read Brené Brown’s Daring Greatly (2012 Gotham Books) and while there are several valuable points to be found in her work on shame, vulnerability, and resilience, there was one set of ideas in the book that had significant resonance with what I watch white people struggle with when addressing their internal responses to issues of race, racism and whiteness. But before I expound on them I want to be very clear that I am merely adding my own thoughts onto Dr.

Brown’s work and I want to give full attribution to her, her research, and the voice she brings to an important and complicated conversation about shame, vulnerability, and resilience. As such, I ask that you honor the copyright agreements for these blog postings so that her work does not somehow get lost in any re-postings. Her intent, however, is not merely to explicate the ways shame trips all of us up in our lives, it is to offer a countervailing idea she describes as “shame resilience”. Again, though Dr. 7 Sex Toys that Work Great for Curvy, Plus Size Women [EXPERT] | Curvy Girl Chrystal Bougon. This article is designed to help women who are curvy. Fat haters, please spare us your mean comments Where there is a will, there is a way! But, I know that some curvy women have to be somewhat creative when it comes to using sex toys alone or with a partner. All of us fat women are built differently. And, truthfully, it's because of the fact that all of our curves are in different places that the plus size lingerie manufactureres struggle with designing lingerie that fits us well.

Let me tell you a little bit about me, first. More from YourTango: REGULAR Women in Lingerie Challenge More from YourTango: 13 Reasons Why Women Fake Orgasms I have talked to tens of thousands of women about their sex life, typically in a very private setting. Some bigger women cannot reach their clitoris easily. The infamous Hitachi Magic Wand is a "back" massager that plugs into the wall so there is no need to fuss around with batteries.

CORSET | the go-to magazine for all things sexuality – Daily Diary. Today “ponyplay” or humans involved in animal role play has grown in popularity as people discover the sexuality of ponyplay. Ponygirls and today, ponyboys, are being added as more and more Dominant females are getting involved which for a long time was a Dominant man’s sport only. Generally, only ponygirls were harnessed and used. Today, ponyboys are more popular as more Females take the lead so to speak and tame and break their males to serve them. It’s not only the new peoples sport, but there is a festival in California called the Folsom Street Fair that has been around for sometime now where human pony owners can parade their human ponies down the street to the delight of onlookers as the ponies prance proudly for their “masters and mistresses”.

They are bridled and adorned with plumage for dressage and many if not all will also be displayed with a full ponytail which drapes behind the magnificent beast of burden affixed to the “animal” by a simple butt plug. Best BBW. [Interview] Virgie Tovar on Being ‘Hot & Heavy’: Lose The Hate, Not The Weight. Photo: (SFGate) It’s still only the beginning of 2013, and with any new year there always comes talk about losing weight.

But Virgie Tovar, the editor of the book “Hot & Heavy: Fierce Fat Girls on Life, Love & Fashion” says that it’s time to lose hate — not weight. “Hot & Heavy” focuses on the personal stories of plus size women who talk about and celebrate their bodies instead of feeling ashamed of them. Virgie says it’s a one-of-a-kind book, and we wanted to hear some words of wisdom from her. ACT: Why did you want to make the anthology “Hot & Heavy: Fierce Fat Girls on Life, Love & Fashion”? VIRGIE: “Hot & Heavy” is really an homage to the women I met when I started doing fat politics. When people read “Hot & Heavy,” I want them to think about what their lives would be like if they stopped apologizing for their body (whatever size it is).

ACT: It’s the New Year, and there’s a lot of talk about “losing weight” as opposed to “being healthy and happy.” VIRGIE: Ooh. Take action. Fat, Sex, and Race (Part One) Fat, Sex, and Race (Part One) by Erec Smith January 24 2013 The other day, a thin, white, male “friend” posted this photo, “How to Catch a Black Man” on Facebook. Upon initially seeing the post, a feeling of sharp displeasure quickly morphed into a staunch and single-minded sobriety one may feel when stepping to a challenge.

This picture suggested that all black men desire fat, white women with an uncontrollable lust that could prove quite detrimental. (The photo is of a trap, after all.) Why does my friend . . . ahem . . . acquaintance believe this about black men? Well, people believe what they see—a black man courting a fat, white woman is not an uncommon sight. My first step toward this notoriously uncomfortable subject is to suggest that, like many myths surrounding fat, it is untrue or, at best, highly exaggerated.

Perhaps just as many white men admire fat women as do men of color. I think many men are closeted fat admirers. To Be Continued. Subscribe to this blog ShareThis. Yema Rose - chat - erecsmith12. The Varieties of Intimate Relationship. Who's Afraid of Black Sexuality? - The Chronicle Review. By Stacey Patton Gregory Prescott Well, for a long time, lots of people. Including scholars. Particularly black scholars. If sex was once difficult to discuss openly, black sex was especially fraught. It touched on too many taboos: stereotypes and caricatures of "black Hottentots" with freakish feminine proportions; of asexual mammies or lascivious Jezebels; of hypersexual black men lusting after white women.

It brought up painful memories of white control over black bodies during slavery; of rape and lynching; of Emmett Till, a teenager tortured and murdered in 1955 for supposedly flirting with a white woman; of the controversial 1965 "Moynihan Report," which called black family structures and reproductive patterns "a tangle of pathology. " "The white imagination still traffics in toxic racial and gender stereotypes," says Beverly Guy-Sheftall, a professor of women's studies at Spelman College. That silence has left a gap in the classroom and in black-studies scholarship. Marlon M. Make Love Not Porn :: Porn World vs. Real World. Spiritual Sex: 10 Erotic Commandments. Discover the sacred unity of body and soul when it comes to sex. In the monastery, I was taught to see spirituality as part of religion.

But my later studies opened up a much larger notion. I discovered from Renaissance authors that any attempt to transcend yourself can be spiritual. You might learn, think, write, converse— all representing the intellectual side of the spiritual. You might play sports and try hard to reach impossible goals. In a stadium full of adoring, out-of-their-skins spectators, you might make a "miracle" play. Researching Greek polytheistic religion also had a strong impact on my views on sex.

More from YourTango: You've Been Very Bad: 7 Naughty Holiday Traditions To Try I also examined images of the gods erect and full of desire. I came away from my studies in religion with the knowledge that it is possible to be intensely spiritual and intensely sexual at the same time. From all these sources I developed what I will call the ten erotic commandments. ETHICS. Deepak Chopra: Insights into Sex and Spirituality. Dear Friends, On the occasion of the Sony e-book release of my book, Kama Sutra I would like to share the following insights on sex and spirituality: Sexual energy is the primal and creative energy of the universe.

All things that are alive come from sexual energy. In animals and other life forms, sexual energy expresses itself as biological creativity. In humans, sexual energy can be creative at all levels -- physical, emotional and spiritual. Love, Deepak deepakchopra.com.
