I woke up my little sweethearts this morning with a heart-themed breakfast. The minnies were so excited as I flipped the heart pancakes onto their plate. And strawberries? But it was small. And I was nursing. My mammary glands made me do it. I whipped up a whopper of a fruit pizza a couple of weeks ago using my good ol’ standby sugar cookie recipe…and it was so darn good in such a naughty, naughty way. Feel free to halve the recipe below and press into a smaller pan, or just split the full recipe in half and roll out two thinner pizzas. I had to sort them by colour first. I figured they would add a little bit of flavor to the fondant so I wouldn't have to add much flavoring oil. ‘Cause I have been, ever since I laid eyes on these Gingersnap Milkshakes that Lisa sent over for her installment in our 12 Tastes of Christmas series. Lisa is not only an amazing cook, food stylist and photographer…I’m lucky to get to call this incredible girl a friend. We bonded at Alt Summit last year, and I got to hang with her during my San Fran trip earlier this month. Her blog, With Style & Grace, inspires “a new way of healthy living with easy and delicious gluten-free recipes.” Sounds like the perfect way to kickoff 2012, if you ask me. I love this time of year when we gather at holiday festivities, share family recipes, toast the New Year and celebrate being together. When entertaining during the holidays, I like to change up the dessert course by serving these mini gingersnap cookie milkshakes. Serve in little glasses with a cookie crumb-coated rim, drop in a colorful straw and you’ve got yourself a festive treat.
