National Geographic Photo Contest 2011. National Geographic is currently holding its annual photo contest, with the deadline for submissions coming up on November 30. For the past nine weeks, the society has been gathering and presenting galleries of submissions, encouraging readers to vote for them as well.

הטבלה מציגה בפנינו את היחס שבין עוצמת הפלאש למהירותו. זיהוי תנועה. הורדת מצגות צילום, רקעים לשולחן עבודה ותוכנות עריכה חינמיות. צילום דיגיטלי - צילום כיצד? הצמצם ועומק השדה. הצמצם הוא חור טבעתי המורכב מעלים היושבים אחד על השני, כך שניתן להרחיב את החור או להקטינו ע"י הזזת העלים. דרך החור של הצמצם עובר כל האור הנכנס לתוך המצלמה במשך זמן החשיפה, ככל שהחור גדול יותר יכנס יותר אור ולהפך. בדומה למהירות התריס, גם לגודל החור בצמצם יש השפעה על חדות התמונה אולם באופן שונה לחלוטין. ככל שהצמצם יותר סגור כך עומק שדה הראיה של המצלמה פתוח יותר, כלומר חלקים יותר גדולים של התמונה יצאו חדים וברורים, בעוד שבצילום עם צמצם פתוח מאוד רק האובייקטים הקרובים למצלמה יצאו חדים והרקע יצא מטושטש.
כאשר רוצים לצלם נוף, מומלץ לסגור את הצמצם כמה שיותר, בעוד שבצילום פרצוף עדיף צמצם פתוח. בדומה לזמני החשיפה גם לפתיחת הצמצם יש גדלים קבועים מתוכם ניתן לבחור את הגודל המיטבי לתמונה שלנו. הגדלים מסודרים כך שכל גודל מכניס פי 2 יותר אור מקודמו, להלן הגדלים מהקטן (הכי סגור) לגדול (הכי פתוח): (צמצם סגור) f/1, f/1.4, f/2, f/2.8, f/4, f/5.6, f/8, f/11, f/16, f/22, f/32, f/45 (צמצם פתוח). להלן מספר חוקי אצבע למהירויות ומפתחי צמצם: Untitled. מדידת אור – קליקי. מתוך קליקי, מיקרופדיה חופשית לאמנות הצילום. העין האנושית איננה מסוגלת להתמודד עם טווח גדול של בהירויות.
ביום בהיר אם תכנס לתוך אזור מוצל, יקח לעיניך זמן להתרגל - בין השאר עד שהאישון יתרחב - ועד שתוכל לראות ברמת אור אחרת. התגובה של האישון, מיצמוץ העיניים שלך והזמן שלוקח להסתגל הם תגובות פיסיולוגיות אוטומטיות. גם הפילם צריך להסתגל ובהתאם לדירוג רגישות ISO שלו לקבל כמות אור מסוימת - אבל מי שקובע כמה אור הוא יקבל הוא גוף המצלמה (צמצם ותריס).
אלמלא הייתה מדידת אור, והיית מחייג מהירות תריס או ערך צמצם שרירותיים במצב M, היו בוודאי יוצאות לך תמונות שרופות (יותר מדי אור) או חשוכות (פחות מדי אור) ולכן קיים רכיב המדאור במצלמה שממליץ על הכיוונונים הנ"ל. עוד אינפורמציה תחת ערך חשיפה מדידת אור מתבטאת מצילום ביחידות "ערך חשיפה" או Exposure Value ובקיצור EV. אור ישיר האור הנכון למדוד אותו הוא האור הישיר שיאיר על הנושא. אור חוזר מדאור אור חוזר בד"כ מתבלבל אם הנושא כהה מאד או בהיר מאד, כי אז אין הממוצע משקף את רמת האור.
