The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D. Wattles THIS book is pragmatical, not philosophical; a practical manual, not a treatise upon theories. It is intended for the men and women whose most pressing need is for money; who wish to get rich first, and philosophize afterward.
It is for those who have, so far, found neither the time, the means, nor the opportunity to go deeply into the study of metaphysics, but who want results and who are willing to take the conclusions of science as a basis for action, without going into all the processes by which those conclusions were reached. It is expected that the reader will take the fundamental statements upon faith, just as he would take statements concerning a law of electrical action if they were promulgated by a Marconi or an Edison; and, taking the statements upon faith, that he will prove their truth by acting upon them without fear or hesitation. Life and career[edit] According to the 1880 US Federal Census,[3] Wallace lived with his parents on a farm in Nunda Township of McHenry County, Illinois and worked as a farm laborer. His father is listed as a gardener and his mother as "keeping house. " Florence wrote that "he made lots of money, and had good health, except for his extreme frailty" in the last three years before his death. His death at age 51 was regarded as "untimely" by his daughter; in the previous year he had not only published two books (The Science of Being Well and The Science of Getting Rich), but he had also run for public office.[6] New Thought[edit] About the author of The Science of Getting Rich & the founder of The Science of Getting Rich Network.
Wallace D. Wattles Born in the mid 1800s during the War between the States, Wallace D. Wattles experienced a life of failure after failure, until — in his latter years, after tireless study and experimentation — he formulated and put into practice the principles laid out in The Science of Getting Rich. His daughter Florence notes that in those last years, "he wrote almost constantly. It was then that he formed his mental picture. Although Mr. (And when you read or listen to Mr. Wallace D.
