How to Avoid Getting Screwed During Textbook Buyback Season. I've worked in a campus bookstore but now work in a school library, so I'd like to offer my perspective here.

How to Avoid Getting Screwed During Textbook Buyback Season

When we did buybacks at the bookstore, there were set totals that we had for the number of books we would buy back, and the most we paid was 50% of the new or used price. As we got closer to our target number, the buyback percentage would drop. Once we'd hit that number, we'd buy them at a national rate and send them off to be distributed to other schools.

Once projected demand was up, we'd be unable to buyback books. It's been years since I've worked in a school bookstore, but I can't imagine that the process has changed that much. There is really no point in debating a buyback (or lack of) with bookstore staff. Remember: your campus bookstore is a for-profit enterprise, whose sole purpose is to make a buck under the guise of supporting academic enrichment. Even your instructors sometimes had a hand in this. "How To Bullshit Your Way Through Any Essay" by K W Schroeder. If there is one thing college kids neglect the most, besides basic diet and hygiene, it’s the homework assignment essay.

"How To Bullshit Your Way Through Any Essay" by K W Schroeder

Hastily written and utterly unedited the night before it’s due, the modern essay has become something of a nightmare for lackadaisical college students. But writing an essay that seems like it was written by someone with more than a double-digit IQ is not nearly as difficult as it seems, I assure you. Even the laziest Guitar Hero II god can whiz through an essay that reads like it was written by F. Scott Motherfucking Fitzgerald. What seems difficult and scary is actually as simple and accessible as you can want. Study Skills Library - Academic Skills Center - Cal Poly.
