Dimensional / Sacred Geometry. Bing. Golden ratio. Line segments in the golden ratio In mathematics, two quantities are in the golden ratio if their ratio is the same as the ratio of their sum to the larger of the two quantities.

Golden ratio

The figure on the right illustrates the geometric relationship. Expressed algebraically, for quantities a and b with a > b > 0, The golden ratio is also called the golden section (Latin: sectio aurea) or golden mean.[1][2][3] Other names include extreme and mean ratio,[4] medial section, divine proportion, divine section (Latin: sectio divina), golden proportion, golden cut,[5] and golden number.[6][7][8] Some twentieth-century artists and architects, including Le Corbusier and Dalí, have proportioned their works to approximate the golden ratio—especially in the form of the golden rectangle, in which the ratio of the longer side to the shorter is the golden ratio—believing this proportion to be aesthetically pleasing (see Applications and observations below). Calculation Therefore, Multiplying by φ gives and History.

Golden mean (philosophy) To the Greek mentality, it was an attribute of beauty.

Golden mean (philosophy)

Both ancients and moderns believed that there is a close association in mathematics between beauty and truth. The poet John Keats, in his Ode on a Grecian Urn, put it this way: "Beauty is truth, truth beauty," -- that is all Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know. The Greeks believed there to be three "ingredients" to beauty: symmetry, proportion, and harmony. This triad of principles infused their life.

In Chinese philosophy, a similar concept, Doctrine of the Mean, was propounded by Confucius. Another early elaboration is the Doric saying carved on the front of the temple at Delphi: "Nothing in Excess" ("Meden Agan"). Socrates teaches that a man "must know how to choose the mean and avoid the extremes on either side, as far as possible. " In education, Socrates asks us to consider the effect of either an exclusive devotion to gymnastics or an exclusive devotion to music. In the Eudemian Ethics, Aristotle writes on the virtues. Book Review: Fractal Geometry of Nature...

Mandelbrot, a ground breaking look into the world of Fractal Geometry; which in-turn hugely influenced mainstream popular culture after its publication in 1982. Mandelbrot looks at the underlying mathematical formulas which shape natural systems, nonlinear systems, Chaos theory etc... I find this interesting, I'm starting to look at Quantum Mechanics and observer relationships that produce a collapse of the wave function (or the intention) and, more often than not, patterns occur.

For example: one collapses the wave function of a particular scenario through observer defined variables: Tim colapse the wave function on differing colors; the color is blue, by definition, but Tim sees green, therefore Tim collapses the wave function on green.
