Boy, I didn't know what I was getting myself into when I started this. I've had requests for some sort of expressions tutorial dating back a while now, so I figured, "Sure! I can explain expression drawing...and it'll be way better than all those tutorials out there that are nothing but charts of generic expressions. Yeah! Just give me a day or two to whip something up..." Um.

http://pooleyf.blogspot.com/ The Red or Dead people were very impressed with everyone's progress and it was encouraging to see that we were headed in the right direction in terms of the wackiness of our project. We had a day to get the footage we needed of our model cycling the bike in one day, so needless to say it was pretty hectic, but a hell of a lot of fun! Two young folk (aged 20 and 19) with no design training but with a real love of music and fashion, a can do attitude and with the impetuosity of youth set up a fashion label Red or Dead. Gerardine, whilst being untrained has already spent half a decade making all her clothes and Wayne has spent 6 years clubbing in self customised (and with the aide of a creative Mum) secondhand clothes.

Since I'm not taking summer classes at the Academy of Art this year, I figured I'd better find my own project to work on to keep my skills sharp. I've been debating a lot of different ideas. I have several story ideas I want to flesh out, storyboard, and create an animatic for. But then I figured I'll be doing a lot of that for my Thesis Project during the next year or so. http://caseylowe.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

“ …I was born, grew up, spent a few years in the army, a few more in the can and here I am, a half o’ wise guy. “ Tony Sirico is such a strong character. He has so many expressions, his mouth is always pursed up when he’s mad. http://monkeyworks.org/2008/09/

A drawing based on some late night slug encounters. I never knew they liked mushrooms so much, but they were chomping away, break down the mushrooms as the mushrooms broke down an old stump. Everything old is new again. Oct 08, 11 Zog and his marshmallow blob friend are now available in sticker form ! They’re screen printed just like the other stickers, on high quality vinyl by the great guys at Sticker Robot .
Sometimes the best way to ignite that creative spark is a nice change of scene. Whether you’re trying to come up with new and creative ways to decorate your home or you’re trying to solve a problem, sometimes we develop tunnel vision the longer we spend dwelling on something and the best thing for it is to just simply walk away. We’re not talking about outright abandoning whatever has you stumped, just walking away for a bit. Maybe going out to the park, catching a movie or hitting up your favorite caf – regrouping in a sense so that you can return to the problem with a fresh set of eyes. Another thing that can help in this situation is having access to the internet. http://www.dmottcreative.com/
