Introverted Sensing Thinking Perceiving by Marina Margaret Heiss Profile: ISTP Revision: 3.0 Date of Revision: 26 Feb 2005 Like their fellow SPs, ISTPs are fundamentally Performers (note the capital 'P' :-)), but as Ts their areas of interest tend to be mechanical rather than artistic like those of ISFPs, and unlike most ESPs they do not present an impression of constant activity. On the contrary, they lie dormant, saving their energy until a project or an adventure worthy of their time comes along--and then they launch themselves at it.

The apparently frenzied state that inevitably ensues is actually much more controlled than it appears--ISTPs always seem to know what they're doing when it comes to physical or mechanical obstacles--but the whole chain of events presents a confusing and paradoxical picture to an outsider. ISTPs are equally difficult to understand in their need for personal space, which in turn has an impact on their relationships with others.

Peace Through Tourism | Ethical Traveler. As one of the largest industries in the world, tourism has a significant impact on many societies. Although this impact is most often viewed in economic terms, an increasing number of researchers believes that specific forms of tourism can bring about peace, or at least decrease the possibility of conflict. However, such positive effects are unlikely to come through mass or corporatized forms of tourism, which are often damaging to indigenous cultures and the environment, as Sudipta Kiran Sarkar and Babu P. George emphasize in their research paper “Peace Through Alternative Tourism: Case Studies from Bengal, India.”

Instead, Sarkar and George argue, it is alternative forms of tourism which have “the potential to establish a consensus on bringing about sustainable global development and peace.” The simple experience of tourism – getting to know another place and its people – can positively contribute to peace. Call for abstracts As cities increasingly engage in a competitive struggle for attention, community cohesion and inward investment, they are trying to distinguish themselves through the development of distinctive products and experiences based on ‘alternative’ and ‘creative’ forms of tourism. In many cases the growth of mass cultural tourism in cities has increased the flow of tourists to fringe areas in the suburbs or in the inner city, where attractive alternative ‘scenes’ have developed. Examples include DUMBO in Brooklyn or Hoxton in London. These development have been signalled in a number of studies, but so far there has been no structured overview of the field. The aim of this expert meeting, therefore, is to bring together an international group of scholars to consider the issues raised by alternative and creative tourism development in cities, and to think about the ways that these might develop in future.

Geert has operated in an international environment since 1965, and his curiosity as a social psychologist led him to the comparison of nations, first as a travelling international staff member of a multinational (IBM) and later as a visiting professor at an international business school in Switzerland. His 1980 book Culture's Consequences combined his personal experiences with the statistical analysis of two unique data bases. The first and largest comprised answers of matched employee samples from 40 different countries to the same attitude survey questions. The second consisted of answers to some of these same questions by his executive students who came from 15 countries and from a variety of companies and industries.

Systematic differences between nations in these two data bases occurred in particular for questions dealing with values. The values that distinguished countries (rather than individuals) from each other grouped themselves statistically into four clusters. Latest Tourism Research. San Francisco : City Agencies.

Bucharest is Europe’s Best Kept Secret. Featured Writer: Nicole Basaraba Bucharest is the most lush, sweet and pleasing-to-the-eye city I’ve visited and the best part is that nobody “knows” about it. What I mean is that you don’t hear many people talking about their planned trip to Bucharest or other parts of Romania. The lack of hordes of tourists is what makes this city even more fun to visit. There is no standing in line for two hours to visit the Eiffel Tower, the London Eye or to catch a glimpse of the astronomical clock tower in Prague. Bucharest is such a huge city with many wide boulevards and parks.

All the major streets are decorated numerous beds of colorful flowers and there are flower shops at nearly every corner. It adds to the beauty and the great smell of the city. Another major landmark is the Casa Poporului (Palace of the Parliament). The architecture is also fascinating with its white buildings and the characteristic arch motifs. Herastrau Park is a great place to find souvenirs. Like54 People Liked this.
