Designer Tables, Contemporary Dining Tables, Designer Side Tables and Coffee Tables :: Lazerian Studio Manchester. Chairs | I New Idea Homepage | Page 3. 360 degrés coffee table by Roberto Paoli for Ligne Roset. Product news: an extra surface swings out from underneath this coffee table by Italian designer Roberto Paoli (+ slideshow). Designed for Ligne Roset, 360 degrés has a second shelf tucked underneath the larger table top, which can be rotated outward and positioned on three sides next to the slightly higher surface to create more flat space. The additional shelf is balanced on an arm that branches from the single leg supporting the primary table. Paoli chamfered the coffee table corners and minimised the profiles by tapering the edges underneath. The most recent Ligne Roset products on Dezeen are a table with a cross-shaped notch to store magazines and a console that can be curled round to create a dining table.

Tables we've featured in the past couple of weeks include Zaha Hadid's limited editions made of marble and some that Nendo coloured using crayons. The MIT SOFT Rockers are smart, clean energy charging stations disguised as outdoor rocking lounge furniture. Unlike conventional ‘hard’ urban infrastructure, The SOFT Rocker leverages its environment in a dynamic manner by using the human power of balance to create an interactive 1.5 axis 35 watt solar tracking system. News - Joris Laarman Lab. 31 may 2013 Over the years we created a platform where students can work with us on new digital fabrication methods. The "Anti-gravity object modeling" (AOM) project started in 2012 when Sasa Jokic and Petr Novikov from the Institute of Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC) started their internship at our lab.

One of the wishes we had for a long time was large scale 3D printing without the need for support material. After studying many many options, we finally decided to work with smart custom build extruder and a two component thermo set plastic that hardens so quickly it allowed us to print in mid air. This new method of additive manufacturing allows the creation of 3D objects on any given work surface, independent of its inclination and smoothness, and without a need of additional support structures. Conventional methods of additive manufacturing have been affected both by gravity and printing environment. kIM HYUNJOO studio. Illusion Table. Thanks to a chance tweet from our friend @TheSilverZebra, we were introduced to the brilliant online store of Rockett St George. They are a purely online shop offering an "eclectic mix of contemporary homeware and gifts with a strong emphasis on style. " These illusion tables are made from strong acryllic and are designed to recreate the look of a tablecloth floating in the air.

Handmade and available in several colours and sizes we recommend you check them out over at Rockett St George. Tina Armchair by Benedetta Tagliabue. Architect Benedetta Tagliabue has created a contemporary armchair with rattan, a traditional, typically artisanal, material. (Click the images below for full sized images) Tagliabue is known for having developed several architectural projects using similar materials to the ones that inspired the Tina rattan collection for Expormim, such as the Spanish Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo 2010. "The Tina armchair is surprisingly lightweight and sinuous due to the features and comfort of its natural braiding.

Dutch Design Week 2011: components for this furniture by Rotterdam designers Minale-Maeda can be downloaded, 3D-printed and assembled locally. Consumers can download the blueprints for each piece and alter the dimensions to suit. The required connecting components could be 3D-printed locally and the sheet materials cut to size at a hardware store.

Each piece is designed for simple assembly and to explicitly display its construction. Minale-Maeda aim to give consumers more control and reduce energy expended in transporting whole items of furniture. The project is on show at After the Bit-rush: Design in a Post Digital Age curated by Eindhoven cultural institute MU, who also commissioned the Temporary Trees in our earlier story. Dutch Design Week continues until 30 October. Here are some more details from the designers: Material: wood, polyamide.
