Behind the bar: chelsea + tec petaja’s “magic juice” While we are hard at work on some major projects and enhancements at HORNE, Alissa and I are loving this creative couple kick our column seems to be on. This week’s creative couple hails from Tennessee, had their wedding featured on the cover of the premiere Issue of Southern Weddings Magazine and while one is an amazingly talented professional photographer, the other is an equally talented artist & educator.

Tec Petaja is not only a widely published wedding photographer but also has a keen eye and passion for commercial photography. Ingredients (makes two drinks): 6 hulled strawberries 1 peeled orange 5-7 mint leaves 1/4 peeled cucumber 4-6 oz gin, depending on taste 8 oz fresh lemonade.

Good recipes coupled together with good planning means that no matter how busy your life is there is always a hot meal ready to eat at dinner time. In this collection of recipes you will not find cans of cream soup or other packaged, processed ingredients. The only canned foods you will come across will be pantry staples such as tomato products, vegetables, and fish such as tuna. Crockpot Freezer Meals New! Back to: Homestead Kitchen. Mango Lassi (Indian Yogurt Drink. Every mango lassi recipe you'll find always has the same list of ingredients. Milk, yogurt, mango (fresh or canned), sugar and some crushed ice are always present, though the proportions may differ. To these, I added cardamom extract, saffron (for color) and a pinch of salt to enhance the flavor of the mango. There's something magical about mango lassi (Indian-style smoothie). It has the richness of a milkshake without the calories. On top of that, it's ultra easy to make at home. You don't have to wait for your next trip to the local Indian restaurant to enjoy a tall glass of mango-ey goodness. Ingredients Yields: 6 glasses 1-1/4 cups mango pulp (see tips)2 cups plain yogurt2/3 cup milk (I used evaporated milk)1/4 cup superfine sugar, to taste1/8 teaspoon salt2 cups crushed ice1/8 teaspoon saffron threads (optional)1/8 teaspoon cardamom extract (optional) Directions In a mortar and pestle, grind the saffron threads (if used).

Pour into 6 small glasses. Enjoy! Tips I use the Vitamix blender. Breakfast pizza. My son’s favorite game in the whole world is Let’s Play With The Other Baby! You Know, The One We Keep In The Mirror. We bring him over to this giant mirror in the hallway and he goes berserk, he paws at the “other” baby, kicks his legs, squeals and laughs. It cracks us up too. Babies: they’re so cute when they’re kinda confused! It took us a few weeks to realize how sad this game actually is. Or more accurately, what I didn’t make: baked eggs and busy stratas and quiche and baked French toast and winter fruit salads and anything involving jam on bread or plates and forks.

I was a little dubious about the intersection of mozzarella and eggs — I had a very awful omelet with that combo, plus basil, a few years ago — and I was also convinced that the eggs would roll right off the crust but ended up finding this pizza absolutely, utterly perfect in every way.
