How to integrate Bloom’s Taxonomy of apps into the classroom: Bloom’s Taxonomy is by no means the best or only way to categorize websites, apps or other educational tools. However, I often find that for my purposes, it is a really nice way to organize tools so that I can find them later. It also keeps me (and my students) thinking about the learning process and keeps us all from getting stuck in a one-type-of-learning rut. Bloom’s is also extraordinarily handy for categorizing apps that don’t fit neatly into a subject matter or that fall into several different subject categories. In the apps, I have given you a little guide.

Apple announced version 2 of its free iBooks app for iPad and iPhone. iBooks 2 introduces a "textbooks" category to the iBookstore , where visitors will find media-rich educational books that offer videos, interactive pictures and diagrams, learning tools and much more. Not as sexy as an iPad 3 but the tech giant's plan to give anyone the tools to create interactive textbooks for the iPad has the potential to change more people's lives. Apple revealed its vision for the classroom of the future during its much-trailed "big" announcement today at the Guggenheim Museum in New York. Experts say the new features will transform teaching: students will be able to turn images into slideshows, click on links in the text that will take them to glossaries, and create notes by highlighting text with their fingers. IT revolutionised the music industry, but now Apple has its eye on the least rock and roll thing you can think of: school textbooks.

The rest will be obvious if Steps 1-3 went well. You can now back away from the podium and walk amongst the students and do whatever it was you used to do standing at the podium. I suggest you invest in an attachment for your iPad so you can easily hold it as you walk.
