" There was a ruckus. Which I expected. But the post also generated some great questions. Which I hadn't. So let's take a look at some of the more common and persisting questions from my article, and flush some more of the myths surrounding the decidedly-not-magic HDMI down the drain. Is it true all HDMI cables are the same? You talk about long runs of cable. Before a bunch of you say "HA! Regardless of what you choose, it is vital to test the cable before you run it through the walls. Still more reasons why all HDMI cable are the same. Even after two articles , and a tremendous number of page hits, there still seems to be lots of questions about HDMI cables.

I credit this to the complexity of the topic and the mountain of misinformation out there, rather than any particular failing of the writing on my part. Judge as you see fit. But the fact is, a recent reposting of my original article lit off a bevy of new questions. Instead of expanding on that already bloated article, I figured a new one would be a better idea. Hi folks, We've been working on this for quite a while already, and i feel its time to release it into the wild for some more comprehensive testing. LAVFSplitter is a multi-format media splitter that uses libavformat (the demuxing library from ffmpeg) to demux all sorts of media files. The project has been growing in my mind for quite a while, until i found out that Ti-BEN from the XBMC DSPlayer team was working on this as well, so we joined forces and developed the first prototype together.
