Frankenstein Origin Story. John Carter 2 - The Gods of Mars. Uncharted. Hancock 2. Battle Angel. Just Cause. A New Mad Max Trilogy? It's taken a long time to get off the ground, but it looks like Mad Max 4 -- a.k.a. Fury Road -- will finally start shooting in April. And now director and chief warrior of the wasteland George Miller is saying that the film is likely just the first part in a new trilogy. The Australian Financial Review is running a profile on Miller and his latest project, Happy Feet Too. But Mad Max 4: Fury Road also comes up in the piece, where the director says that his team has written a trilogy of films. "We started with [Fury Road], but we then started to do a second story and a third," he says.

"A piece of history... " Last we heard, Tom Hardy was set to play Max (replacing Mel Gibson), with Charlize Theron also starring. Expect the full-on Hollywood tent-pole treatment on the picture as well. "If [the budget is] above $100 million it's a big budget," says producer Doug Mitchell. But is it as massive as Master Blaster?

The Classic Arcade style Film PIXELS gets a Release Date. Sony Pictures has announced that they will release the 3D feature film adaptation of Patrick Jean's awesome viral video Pixels on May 17th 2013. The film tells the story of New York City coming under attack by an army of classic 1980's video game arcade characters. The film was previously described as a Ghostbusters-style action comedy in which characters come out of a video game to wreak havoc in the real world. Adam Sandler production company Happy Madison is producing the film that was written by Saturday Night Live writing Alumni Tim Herlihy, and being helmed by the original short film director Patrick Jean. I don't know how this movie can't be awesome. What do you think? If you haven't seen the short film yet, check it out below:

Anyone who is fed up with Hollywood remakes may want to avert their eyes on this one. We’ve just received a press release from Alcon Entertainment announcing that the studio is fast-tracking a remake of Kathryn Bigelow’s 1991 action/thriller Point Break. Per the release, the remake will be released by Alcon’s home studio, Warner Bros., and they are planning on having Kurt Wimmer’s (Total Recall remake and Salt) screenplay out to directors in the very near future.

As remakes are known to do, the updated Point Break will follow heavily in the footsteps of its predecessor in that it will feature an FBI agent going undercover to investigate a criminal ring within the world of extreme sports. The original starred Patrick Swayze, Keanu Reeves and Gary Busey. For a little more on the project, hit the jump for the full press release and a trailer from the original. News: Rupert Wyatt Shares His Ideas For The 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' Sequel | Latino Review. RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES Director talks about a Sequel. Rise of the Planet of the Apes unexpectedly became one of the best movies of the year for me, and if you haven't seen it yet it's a must watch film! I'm already looking forward to seeing it a second time. As soon as the film ended, I wanted to see this vision of the story continue, and it looks like that might happen.

In a recent interview CBM the director of the film Rupert Wyatt discusses what he would like to be done in the sequel. For those of you who haven't seen the movie yet I suggest not to read this because there are spoilers. Here's what he had to say... Our story is told in a microcosm, but we need to be aware of the world at large. I love where he wants to take the story! Harrison Ford On The Possibility Of A New Blade Runner Movie. While on a press tour to promote Cowboys & Aliens [click here to listen to my review of that movie], Harrison Ford had the following to say about the reported prequel to Blade Runner in development at Alcorn Entertainment. If they go into it with the ambition and some very good idea of how to bring something new to it, maybe it’ll be successful.....The ambition every time that I’ve been involved in a sequel of a film or a movie that had a number of iterations, I always felt that we were responsible for bringing something new to the characters and to the experience of the audience.

If they go into it with the ambition and some very good idea of how to bring something new to it, maybe it’ll be successful. Surprisingly, it seems that Ford is not totally against this idea. Do you think a prequel to Blade Runner could work? Blade Runner is a 1982 American science fiction film directed by Ridley Scott and starring Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer, and Sean Young. Martin Scorsese to Direct Leonardo DiCaprio in THE WOLF OF WALL STREET. It looks like director Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio will be re-teaming once more, this time on an indie film. The duo will tackle the adaptation of Jordan Belfort’s 2008 memoir The Wolf of Wall Street. Ridley Scott was previously set up to direct the film with DiCaprio for Warner Bros., but apparently DiCaprio’s manager was able to secure independent financing for the project and will now shoot the flick sans-studio.

Scorsese is currently busy finishing up his 3D family film Hugo Cabret, but Vulture reports that with financing secured, filming could commence on the 1990’s stockbroker success story as early as June. Terrence Winter, creator/executive producer of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire (for which Scorsese directed the pilot, and is also a producer), wrote the screenplay for Wall Street, so it looks to be a cracker-jack team lined up for the flick. Is it too early to buy tickets? Here’s a synopsis of the book via Amazon: By day he made thousands of dollars a minute.
