Last week, I conducted a Social Media Experiment that I hashtagged #Cruise24. As far as I know, I was the first person to tweet for 24 straight hours. I tweeted for 24 hours from @CruiseSource , without sleeping or communicating any other way. I wanted to focus on Twitter for an extended amount of time to get a better grasp of the state of conversation on Twitter. Luckily, I work for CruiseDeals.com and they have been supportive of all my crazy social media ideas.

This past weekend, me and the family took a trip down I-85 to Atlanta. For them it was a chance to take a quick trip to wrap up Spring Break. For me, it was a chance to catch up with some of my friends, who, like me, also write for Minyanville on occasion. My friend Peter Atwater was speaking at the 2nd annual Socionomics Summit , which I had the pleasure of attending again. But that’s not why I’m writing this post.

This could be me. While we do not know how Whitney Houston died, it hasn’t stopped the news stations and talk show hosts from speculating she was taking a combination of drugs given to her by a doctor, and possibly alcohol. Now, I haven’t had more than a few sips of alcohol since my doctors put me on these extremely strong medication, but it doesn’t stop me from thinking about what could have been…or what could be. I realize I am not a cocaine addict, or that I have a drinking problem.(Unitarians don't have many rituals, but this is one of my favorites. And today it's Dashiell's turn, just like his sisters before him.) And now we have the great joy of welcoming a new child to the world and to our religious community. We welcome this child with joy and wonder at the miracle of life, and embrace him as a member of the community of humankind by formally giving him his name.
