Beautiful to the eye. I’m not normally one for hot chocolate, having made myself ill on thick Spanish hot chocolate and churros. Too many people had however mentioned Monsieur Truffe when I asked tips on places to explore in Fitzroy, my new stomping ground. Well it was amazing. Perfect sized tiny mugs of rich dark chocolate, not too sweet and not too rich- just right. And the Mocha which is my favourite of all was made with an 85% bitter chocolate and coffee and was pure heaven in a cup. My Cooking Hut | Asian & French Recipes » Blog Archive Stuffed Tofu with Pork. Stuffed Tofu with Pork It has been a busy week.. plus it was my birthday 3 days ago! Ahh.. getting another year older.. ops!!! Anyway, we should have gone out for dinner but the restaurant was fully booked even if we booked it a month before my birthday!

However, we managed to reserve a table for 2 next Friday! I am so looking forward to dine in this restaurant, which I will tell you all about it next week! It was also exactly 2 years ago on the 28th October that my food blog was named My Cooking Hut. Just a day before my birthday, I baked a lot of Triple Chocolate Brownies and Madeleines to share them with my work colleagues. Today, I am going to share a very easy dish. This time, I pair tofu with minced pork. Bio-hazard! Dexter Blood Slide Suckers: Eat With Caution! Bio-hazard! Dexter Blood Slide Suckers: Eat With Caution! You know what’s really scary? Ghosts and vampires? Not really; they don’t exist.

I spent the last week thinking about the Martha Stewart lollipops, and how they could be made more scary. For any of you who aren’t familiar with the show, Dexter is about a serial killer of the same name, who works by day as a forensic analyst for the Miami police department, and by night, cleansing the city of the evil criminals who slip through the cracks of our faulty judicial system. For this years gruesome Halloween treat, I decided to create a trophy case of my own.

Pumpkin Pie Bites. I’ve been in a mini-mood lately when it comes to baking and these bite-sized pies met my big craving.

They are really, really easy. Let me show ya. Of course, it didn’t hurt that I used ready to roll refrigerated pie crust. It comes two to a box and if you roll each round pie crust a little bit thinner with a rolling pin, you can get 24 mini pumpkin-shaped pie crusts out of them. Make sure you use all the dough scraps and re-roll to maximize quantities. Then, stuff each one in a mini muffin baking pan. This one holds 24. Press the dough down, in and around the edge of each muffin cup. Fill each pie crust with pumpkin filling all the way to the top. When they come out of the oven, they’ll be puffed up like this. But no, after they cool for a few, they’ll fall and be flush with the pie crust. See… easy mini pumpkin pie bites. You can even drizzle them with melted chocolate to jazz them up a bit. But wait… you say you don’t want to wait until Thanksgiving.

I don’t blame you. Cute! Makes 24 pies. Skulls and Bacon. Blog. Almost Bourdain.
