Open Source Windows is a simple list of the best free and open source software for Windows. We aren't trying to be a comprehensive listing of every open-source Windows application, instead we want to showcase the best, most important, and easiest to use. This page should be a handy reference and a useful tool for getting more people to start using free and open-source software. If you think we're missing any great apps, please let us know: info@bestfreesoftwarelist.com http://opensourcewindows.org/

Poetry Carnival

http://poetrycarnival.blogspot.com/ Given the growing success of new carnivals like the Philosophers' Carnival and the Storyblogging Carnival, I've decided it's high time for aspiring blogging poets to have our own carnival. I'll write more about why I think a Poetry Carnival can be a good thing, but for now, here are some purpose statements/ideas: most importantly, will expose various poets to each other's work, which will serve to create a creative community intent on always improving itself. I hope this goes well. If you come across this page, even if you're not interested in submitting a poem, I'd be much obliged if you would help promote it on your own blog.

F*** & Biscuits Stephen Fry recently did a five-part series about language , including, obviously, 'rude language'. So when Australia's ABC aired the series, what did they pick for its promo clip on YouTube? "Tourette Hero" (containing dozens of involuntary f-words in 4 minutes). Mix maps, Facebook and geolocation and you get something like this. Creepy. Charlie Stross has more about it here .
