React Tutorial: Creating a Simple Application Using React JS and Flux Architecture

React JS is making some waves in the community recently due to its alleged performance increases over other heavy favourites (like Angular JS), especially when it comes to writing out lists. As a result, I am interested in how to write an application that’s easy for the user to use while at the same time being quick to get off the ground. One of the big draws for React JS is the virtual DOM that sits behind the scenes for every view, and it’s the reason why React is said to perform so well.

When a view requires a rerender, the whole thing is rendered into a virtual copy of the DOM. Once that’s complete, React performs a diff between the virtual DOM and the actual DOM, and applies only the changes that the comparison the diff equation indicates. Build native mobile apps using JavaScript and React React Native lets you build mobile apps using only JavaScript.

A framework for building native apps using React

It uses the same design as React, letting you compose a rich mobile UI from declarative components. import React, { Component } from 'react'; import { Text, View } from 'react-native'; class WhyReactNativeIsSoGreat extends Component { render() { return ( <View><Text> If you like React on the web, you'll like React Native. </Text><Text> You just use native components like 'View' and 'Text', instead of web components like 'div' and 'span'. </Text></View> ); }} A React Native app is a real mobile app. How to better organize your React applications? – Alexis Mangin – Medium.

When I started to learn React, I found a few very good articles explaining how to create Todo lists or very simple games.

How to better organize your React applications? – Alexis Mangin – Medium

Those articles were very useful to understand the basics of React, but I quickly got to a point where I wasn’t able to find much about how I could use React to build actual applications, something with a few dozens pages and hundreds of components. After some research, I learned that every React boilerplate project on Github results to similar structures, they organize all the files by type. This might look familiar to you: React Router: Declarative Routing for React.js.

The SoundCloud Client in React + Redux - RWieruch

I read tons of articles about React and its environment, especially Redux, so far. Several of my colleagues used it in side projects and on a theoretical level I could participate in the discussions. In my company we relied heavily on Angular 1 at this point. Again in the early days of 2016 I wanted to see this hyped paradigm shift in its natural environment (React and its flux successor Redux) with a hands on side project. Full-Stack Redux Tutorial.

In tests, replaced use of deprecated setProps() with ReactDOM.render(). Also now using the react-addons-test-utils package so that no imports of 'react/addons' are needed anywhere. Update 2015-11-06: Updated to the new Babel 6 release. The Babel packages we need to install are now a bit different, and an additional "babel" section is needed in the package.json in both projects. Leveling Up With React: React Router

When Brad pitched me this, he pointed out there are a good amount of tutorials on getting started in React, but not as much about where to go from there. If you're brand new to React, I recommend watching this intro video. This series picks up where the basics leave off. Article Series: When I was first learning, I found lots of beginner guides (i.e. 1, 2, 3, 4) that showed how to make single components and render them to the DOM. For what it's worth, here are some other great guides that aim at beginners: Series Code.

Secure Your React and Redux App with JWT Authentication

It offers some benefits over other libraries like Flux, but works in similar ways. In this article we explore how to add JWT authentication to a Redux app. Check out the repo to go straight to the code. There are many benefits to using unidirectional data flow in single page applications. Perhaps the biggest is that as applications become larger, it is easier to reason about how data affects the app's states and views.

While Flux is proven and works well for one-way data flow, a newer library called Redux is another great solution that offers the benefit of being easier to work with. In this tutorial, we'll explore some of the principles of Redux and look at how to build a simple React application with it. What is Redux and What Does it Solve? Presentational and Container Components – Dan Abramov – Medium. There’s a simple pattern I find immensely useful when writing React applications. If you’ve been doing React for a while, you have probably already discovered it. This article explains it well, but I want to add a few more points.

You’ll find your components much easier to reuse and reason about if you divide them into two categories. I call them Container and Presentational components* but I also heard Fat and Skinny, Smart and Dumb, Stateful and Pure, Screens and Components, etc. These all are not exactly the same, but the core idea is similar. React AJAX Best Practices. When you start asking about AJAX and React, the first thing the experts will tell you is that React is a view library and React has no networking/AJAX features. It's good to know, but not very helpful when you just want to get data from the server into your React components. The truth is, there are a ton of ways to do it. You probably have thought of a couple ways yourself, but if you choose the wrong way, your code could get messy. Comment-faces - leagueoflegends. Fanart.na.leagueoflegends. Riot Games - RP Art.
