Deirdre Breakenridge Talks "Putting the Public Back in Public Relations"

http://socalprblog.com/wordpress/?p=915 As PR practitioners we have a whole new set of challenges as our industry could arguably be changing faster than it has in decades. It’s hard to weed through the numerous resources available to help us harness the social Web, but the book “ Putting the Public Back in Public Relations ,” co-authored by Deirdre Breakenridge and Brian Solis , is a great resource that delves into the intersection of PR and social media from both strategic and tactical perspectives.

mediations: Why blog? Self-interest as motivation...

An obvious question for people taking my Intro to Weblogs module is "Why blog?" The obvious answer from my perspective is "Because you get more out of it than you put in." In PR Strategy we are looking at persuasion, and recognising that self-interest is one of the most powerful forces PR can harness. http://publicsphere.typepad.com/mediations/2008/02/why-blog-self-i.html
