Marjorie M. Liu. Sherrilyn Kenyon | The Official Site of the #1 New York Best Selling Author. Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter, Harlequin | NOOK Book (eBook), Hardcover. A GraveTells review: Good ole monster-slaying fun! Alice in Zom A GraveTells review: Good ole monster-slaying fun! Alice in Zombieland is riveting and addicting... from the very first sentence. Ali loses her family to a zombie attack in the beginning of the book; that's no spoiler, she mourns about it in the prologue. What completely blindsided me, however, was how deep and intense her grief was and how much it affected me. Here I am sniffling and tearing up on the train on my commute home, barely 10 minutes after picking up the book! Ali's friend Kat is a veritable whirlwind, a tornado of peppy energy and urban slang of her own creation.

On to Cole Holland, the mysterious bad boy of the school who is both a fearsome leader and a classic gentleman. Of course, you can't talk about Alice in Zombieland without a huge nod to our fearless heroine, Alice aka Ali. These zombies are not your typical brain-eating, slow-moving, grunting and stupid automatons with a shuffling gait.

Finale (Hush, Hush Saga #4) by Becca Fitzpatrick, Simon & Schuster Books For Young Readers. I don't think I have ever felt this profound sense of finality b I don't think I have ever felt this profound sense of finality before while reading a book. Not since reading the final book in The Hunger Games trilogy (Mockingjay) have I felt this way. Like I don't know what to do now that this series is over. Now all of a sudden all I can hear in my head is Celine Dion's song "Where does my heart beat now". My best friends got me hooked on Hush Hush, and it was so good it sparked a deep love of reading in me that I still haven't been able to quench. Finale starts off where Silence finished.

The most shocking moment I absolutely DID NOT see coming involved a beloved character. This book made me cry, and that almost NEVER happens! 45 out of 47 people found this review helpful. I would not recommend this book to serious readers. The books p I would not recommend this book to serious readers. The books packs on a bunch of young adult tropes and ends up reading like an episode of Degrassi. I bought this book, encouraged by the favorable reviews I had gotten from friends (and Barnes and Noble reviews here online), but ended up returning it immediately after I read it. The most obvious problem is that the main character, Charlie, is nauseatingly naive and completely unrelatable. 'Do you know what 'masturbation' is? This is not at all how high school freshmen talk or behave. 11 out of 35 people found this review helpful.
