El negocio de las ferias de arte. El siguiente artículo de Elena Vozmediano* tiene como fuente de referencia un informe que ofrece, entre muchos otros datos, tres listas: un top 10 de empresas, un top 20 de galerías, y un top 30 de ferias de arte, con indicadores como “reputación”, “número de visitantes” y “puntaje general”.
De acuerdo con el informe anual de Skate’s Market Research, en 2012 (aún no ha publicado el de 2013) ARCOMadrid ocupó el séptimo puesto entre las más importantes ferias internacionales de arte, tras Art Basel, TEFAF, Paris Photo, FIAC, Artissima y Art Basel Miami Beach. Aunque en otros tiempos estuvo más arriba en la tabla podemos estar muy satisfechos con la valoración, considerando la debilidad del mercado interno y la feroz competencia ferial.El elevado número de galerías participantes y de visitantes nos da muchos puntos, poniéndonos por encima de Frieze y Art Cologne, que tienen objetivamente más peso que ARCO en el segmento más alto y más global del mercado.
