DIY Wall Art ~ LOVE. Hey friends! Ash and I had a great time at the Haven Conference in Georgia last week! We will share more on our time there soon! I am still a little pooped from the trip, so today I worked on an easy little revamp I have been planning. Many of you may remember my DIY wall art LOVE sign I made a while back. While I do still love the sign (no pun intended ;-)) I am slightly “over” the color I chose for my heart. I have been planning a way to make the sign more neutral without painting it. I finished it today, and I think I love it! You can see my tutorial on the wood sign HERE!! I do love the pop of color I originally added on the sign, but I am ready to go a different direction in that room.

I started my making a bunch… And then used my hot glue gun to cover up the heart! That’s it! I love the way the fabric looks against the wood! Here are a few more pictures… Hope you love it… Can’t wait to show you what direction I went with the new color! ~Whitney. Creatively Living: Inexpensive Tips on Bedroom Focal Walls. Well, this is Chloe’s bedroom focal wall, and here are some ways I decorated her wall inexpensively. 1. I love a dramatic bedroom focal wall, so I will usually use large art. I created this Whimsical Branch Wall Art, by using branches, sparkly stars and some sunburst mirrors I found at a yard sale. This art involves layering, which can be an inexpensive way to add drama. 2. I’ve seen people use branches, pallets, material, curtains, you name it and it can be used as a headboard. 3. It’s yard sale season! I happen to find these two antique chairs at yard sales for about 3$ each. Perfect for a little girl’s room!

4. 5. 6. 7. 8. Every bed needs some good pillows. I actually bought the pillow fabric for a different room, where it TOTALLY didn’t work. The orange pillow I sewed and dressed up by using vintage gold buttons that were also from a yard sale. (the arrow shows the less expensive material on the back of the pillow) 9. Love em’ or hate em’, accent walls add to a space. 10. 11. –Katie. Craft Awesome Geometric Photo Mosaics! 4×6, 5×7, 8×10: ahh, the sacred sizes of photo prints. Check out those gorgeous walls! Remember what it used to look like? Bleh. I saw the idea for horizontal board and batten on Pinterest from Milk and Honey Home: She used a bright orangeish/coralish color for the top but we went with a light taupe color. Here's how we did it! We went to Lowe's and purchased a bunch of 1x4x8 boards. The walls are still gray at this point and the boards are not primed/painted yet. Next, we used caulk to fill in some of the gaps, the nail holes, and any extra spaces that needed some refinishing.

Progress shots: first coat of paint and the dining room in complete disarray! And after a second coat of paint and setting the furniture back out, it is complete! A shot of the empty wall where our shelving will go (someday!) Wide angle shot: need that shelving (mentioned above) and some art. Doesn't it give the room such depth and dimension? Peek towards the kitchen: looks great together! How to paint a Chevron Wall Tutorial. Check out my new wall!!! I am LOVING it! I feel like it finished off that room and add something new to my large wall! I love the look with the vintage windows and my White Buffet! I been wanting to do a chevron painted wall somewhere in my house.

I have found a million different ways of making this fun pattern come to life through paint. I have seen it painted on canvas, rugs, curtains.. and the list goes on and on. I have also come across a million different ways to accomplish the chevron pattern. But I have done things different, and unlike anything I have come across, not to say that it’s not out there… but in my search for the easiest way, I have not come across it! I did not want to tape anything off and I also knew that I would be working on this on my own so I need something that would be easy for just one person to do! I used a good old fashion overhead projector that I found on Craigslist for $25!

Here is my EASY AND CHEAP HOW-TO paint a Chevron Wall! 2. 3. 4. 5. And My AFTER picture! Cutting edge stencil giveaway {with a room reveal} A while ago, I decided I wanted to change my front living room. It is a room you can see right when you walk in the front door and I wanted it to make an impact and feel modern. Here is what the room looked like when we first started. I loved the wainscoting, so I knew I wanted to keep it, but other than that, it needed a big change. I received a wall stencil from Cutting Edge Stencils to try out and knew that would give the room exactly what it needed.

I decided to paint my wall the same color as the wainscoting and then I used a soft gray paint to fill in the stencil. I then got new chairs and pillows and a new little love seat. Can you believe the difference? I am still on the hunt for a large mirror to put on the wall but I just love the room! The stencil was very simple to use and came with a brush that I needed. I have been so happy with my stencil and I cannot wait to buy a different stencil to use in another room of my house. DIY Giant Photo Booth Picture. Typography | House in the Woods.

In the future we plan to expand this project but today it’s a different set of posters. Even though we’re not exactly a target group, we loved Tangled and it reminded us of all those older Disney animations we were brought up on. So today we present our tribute: simple posters for 20 classic Disney movies.

Again, it was so much fun. And, should you be interested, the posters are available here.
